If it was an occupation like you said, then the original inhabitants would've been evected, which they weren't. Instead, they were allowed to stay and practice their religions freely. the best thing about all these videos isn't that it gives information or historical context or even that you narrate with sophistication akin to David Attenborough (though everything is amazing and i am never disinterested) but it's the wondrous questions and implications at the end of the videos that not only suggest we're trying to cling on to past glory that will never come again, but also ask if it was worth it, if future generations will marvel at something we build now and say the same things, or if they'll scorn them and destroy what they don't understand.

IN India only there are two similar structures 1.BIBI KA MAKHBARA (AURANGABAD) 2.BLACK TAJ MAHAL (IN UP) At first it was too be black but then it was made from white marbles collected from the bank of the river in Rajasthan(Makrana) Till today the prints are made by the descendants of the artist of that time in Agra

This was super informative and exceeded expectations... however regret that current polictical controversices were highlighted out of the 400 year old history making that one section more of a Polictical vendatta . All indians love Taj Mahal and no one can acutally harm this beloved structure. Ironically for the structure that symbolizes love; the queen did die during birthof 14th child, 20k workers had their hands chopped offso that they could never recreate a replica and the king was laid to rest right next to her in the Taj as thier own blood no longer had a budget for his fathers grave.

Fun fact: the Taj Mahal is not actually complete. Behind the mausoleum on the opposite bank is the site for another garden similar to the one surrounding the Taj. Relative to where the Taj is located would be a large dark pool, which would create a dark reflection of the Taj Mahal. It would create the impression of two buildings: one white and the other black. That's at least one theory.

How the Propoganda of blatant lies about Taj Mahal, Vatican, Kaaba etc started- Purushottam Nagesh Oak(1917-2007), who claimed Taj Mahal as a Shiva Temple a.k.a.'Tejo Mahalya'. Among his prominent claims were that Christianity and Islam are both derivatives of Hinduism; that Vatican City, Kaaba, Westminster Abbey and the Taj Mahal were once Hindu temples dedicated to Shiva; and that the Papacy (Vatican Pope) was originally a Vedic Priesthood. In 2000 India's Supreme Court dismissed Oak's petition to declare that a Hindu king had built the Taj Mahal by saying he had a "bee in his bonnet" about the Taj. Till date, as of 2017, several court cases about Taj Mahal being a Hindu temple have been inspired by Oak's theory. In August 2017, Archaeological Survey of India stated there was no evidence to suggest the monument ever housed a temple. There is no evidence offered by Oak to redate it to 13 centuries earlier. Technical know-how to construct structural buildings didn't exist in 4th-century India. Oak later dropped this claim and claimed it to be from the 12th century. Similar False Historical claims are done by Oak in other structures. (If ur interested, then u can do ur own research from authentic sources for his works) Oak is a 'mythistorian' whose work resorted to exploiting comparative philology in the generation of delusional etymologies-associating Sanskrit sound-alikes with foreign terms such as Vatican=vatika (hermitage), Christianity=Krishna-niti (the way of Krishna), Abraham as an aberration of Brahma -- to purvey an Islamophobic and anti-Christian agenda under the covers of Hindutva. Edwin Bryant in his work on Indo-Aryan theory describes Oak to be a self-styled historian whose works suffer from an ubiquitous and very poor standard of professionalism and critical methodology and who fit the definition of a crack-pot. This is why Oak's theories have been noted to have found a popular following among right-wing Hindu factions in a bid to wage politico-religious battles.

If India is that concerned about the future of the Taj Mahal. they should offer it for sale to the same American that bought the original London Bridge which was delicately disassembled with each brick and piece getting a specific number so that reconstruction could proceed infallibly. Now it rests in the Western Desert, impervious to pollution and basking in unvarying sunshine. The Taj, while bigger, would definitely be a project within the capabilities of the Americans. They're bloody good at a lot of things and scale certainly doesn't intimidate them. The Taj could rest for time immemorial, protected from pollution and slowly disintegrating foundations, a resplendent white again in the enduring sunshine it is used to.
