The second and final part of the Tale of Beren and Lúthien tells of the Quest for the Silmaril and the Hunting of the Wolf, as well as the final part of The Lay of Leithian! This video resolves the tale of which is perhaps the heart of Tolkien’s legendarium. Thank you all so much for watching, let me know your thoughts about this part of the tale in the comments below! As always, a great thanks to the online artists whose visual works made this video possible! If you are one of the artists, please let me know and I will post your name and a link to your work in this description!

I got to admit, the story of the elder days and the lost land of Beleriand has the most beautiful fantasy stories ever, LOTR has no match... And its so special its takes you on when you read or listen to it, i wish i will be one of the people to bring this alive making movies about the Elder days, years of the tree and The war of the wrath, the picture will be so Beautiful, Gondolin, Doriath, Aman ... Men of the west you doing an amazing job...

The whole scene where Luthien singing to Mandos and moves him to pity is a great homage to Orpheus who traveled to Hades in Greek Mythology to bring back his wife from the dead and creates such a lovely tune that moves Hades to pity (although Hades gives Orpheujs a deal that he and his wife may leave Hades but Orpheus cannot turn back to look at her until they leave the realm of Hades, but at the last moment, feeling/thinking that Hades might've tricked him, Orpheus turns back and see's that it was his wife but she is brought back to Hades)

Breathtakingly beautiful. I feel like Tolkien is constantly (deservedly) praised for being an epic fantasy writer, and while we all love his ability to create beautiful locations and epic wars with amazing characters, he doesn't get enough appreciation for his ability to write about love. This tale may just be the most poignant and stunning of all. An eternal life of bliss and happiness alone doesn't compare to being with your true love, even if it's for a limited time.

Beren & Luthien should be adapted into a trilogy the story spans over 1 year just like Lord of The Rings & The Hobbit the story about fellowship of Beren, Findrod & Luthien, Huan just like LOTR's fellowship & The Hobbit's Okenshield company the story about love of Beren + Luthien just like LOTR's Aragorn + Arwen & The Hobbit's ..... never mind the story about historical & precious artifacts of Silmarils, Ring of Barahir just like LOTR's Ring, Palentiri & The Hobbit's Arkenstone, Ring the story about quest for a Silmaril just like LOTR's quest for the Ring & The Hobbit's quest for Erbor Further more this is arguably the biggest love story to be ever adapted Beren & Luthien truly deserves a trilogy with the same theme as LOTR trilogy part 1:: about Beren's history with his father & after his death then his pursuing of Luthien & falling for her & her for him, quest for silmaril, meeting with findrod & falling in Sauron's captivity, Luthien's quest to help Beren & having help from Huan. part 2:: about Luthien's adventures with Huan to help Beren, Beren & Finrod confrontation with Beast-wolf, Finrod's death along with the beast, Huan's beating wolves & facing Sauron, Luthien & Huan freeing Beren from captivity & reuniting again. part 3:: about Beren & Luthien going on the quest together, Beren's fight with Celegorm & Curufin, Beren's quest to Angband, Luthien & Huan masquerading, Beren & Luthien's tricking Morgoth & obtaining a Silmaril, Beren confronting Karkaroff using Silmaril, The Eagles saving the lovers, Hunting Of The Wolf, Beren dies with Huan & Karkaroff, followed by Luthien, Halls of Mandos, Ressurection of Beren & Luthien. That's a very happy ending as well as some very satisfying events, of course some additional Orcs fight scenes are very welcome to be added.

Very very well told. This is truly the most beautiful and tragic story Tolkien ever wrote, full of pathos and true love.

This is going to be an epic movie if they do it right!!!!! Makes me happy and extremely depressed at the same time. I had I one but I lost her. I deserve that because I'm so stupid from what I didn't do.

I'm fairly new here, but I'd like to thank you for your content. It's inspired me to acquire and read more of the legendarium, starting with The Silmarillion. I'm sure you get plenty of these kinds of comments, but I still wanted to send my own thanks for the inspiration.

The best love story ever. It’ll be hard for it not being made into movies or series in the future. But since it clearly is one of the story that might be considered to be Tolken best I can see why in respect of him it’ll be left in the books to keep it as original as he wrote it. A movie about this story would be at the same level or more as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

This has to be the greatest love story in any fiction work that I have come across. I hope Amazon will adapt this and thus give it the visuals and acting that such a story deserves. Your storytelling is a treasure in itself in these videos.

How did Morgoth slowly lose his great Might and Power over time like in the beginning when he was Melkor he was stronger then all the Valar including Tulkas combined then he becomes so weak he can't even face 1 Valar anymore.

It's said in "The Silmarillion" that in working so many tangible evils across the world, creating so many evil creatures and places, Morgoth slowly sacrificed a lot of his power, so that his actual body became weaker, and his personal form became less than it was: "And [the sun] Morgoth feared with a great fear, but dared not come nigh her, having indeed no longer the power; for as he grew in malice, and sent forth from himself the evil that he conceived in lies and creatures of wickedness, his might passed into them and was dispersed, and he himself became ever more bound to the earth, unwilling to issue from his dark strongholds. With shadows he hid himself and his servants from [the sun], the glance of whose eyes they could not long endure; and the lands near his dwelling were shrouded in fumes and great clouds." - The Silmarillion, pp. 101-2, "Of the Sun and Moon." (Sorry to be a smart-ass: I was just reading this last night.)

@@TheSaneHatter Wow then he's pretty stupid for doing that. Maybe he will get his full power again in Dagor Dagorath because there he's confident to face the Valar again but who knows.
