Painting lady who ever you are. I love you. I was a little kid. I must have watched this 20,000 times as a kid. I was explaining this to my girl. All I could remember is the rabbit and the intro with the rain. It always drew me right in.

I remember watching "Peter Rabbit" when I was little. It was one of my favorites and I still love it. I have the book. And I didn't know that the mother rabbit's name was Josephine. I always wanted to have a daughter named Josephine. And someday I will.

This couldn’t be. I haven’t heard this American version since I was a kid back in the 1990S. I used to watch this on VHS when I was at my Grandparents house. But that was a long time ago. I doubt that this episode in USA version is out on the complete DVD Set.

The original UK dub was released on VHS in the US as well, it just wasn't the most commonly available US release for awhile. There was a three-tape VHS set with white boxes with two episodes on each tape, and they used the original UK voices. I think the US dub was specifically on GoodTimes VHS releases.

I don't know why but I'm telling you this now they should not have done that in the first place because it's all the same English language and it belongs the Great Britain it doesn't belong to America. Not only this but they shouldn't have made the American versions of lots of other children's TV shows.

Is it just me or does anyone else not feel like the sound is not the same as you remember? I don't remember this much dialog. I remember a woman's voice narrating more than in this. And Peter's voice sounds a little different too. I'm trying to find the original I watched when I was young, but I really don't remember it having all this extra talking.

That wasn’t the real Beatrix Potter, I think that Dawn French version was just a rumor made to hurt her legacy. I have always been a huge fan of Beatrix Potter and her work, and I have read biographies. This shows who Beatrix Potter truly was. Also, the movie Miss Potter with Renne Zellweger shows the true Beatrix Potter as well. :)

Yes and no. If you see her that way, that’s your opinion which you are entitled to. That movie, in my won opinion, promoted a hurtful rumor that was untrue and should never have been made. This is what Beatrix Potter was truly like. :)

Dawn French’s version doesn’t look like the real Beatrix Potter, while this one looks like photographs of her. Also, the Dawn French version promotes an untrue and hurtful rumor that she supposedly was unfriendly to children. The truth is the reason Beatrix Potter became an author in the first place was because of some children who were friends of hers. She enjoyed visiting them and wrote letters to them, and sometimes these letters would tell stories that would become the Peter Rabbit books eventually. They look very much like the letter in this video. I recommend you watch Miss Potter (2006) or read “Beatrix Potter: the artist and her world” by Judy Taylor. They will both tell you the story of Beatrix Potter in a beautiful way. But like I said, if you see Dawn French as Beatrix Potter, there’s nothing wrong with that you were entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. :)
