I knew Pete well. We lived a few miles from each other and he was mentoring me as well. He was that guy who you would talk firearms with and as we talked rare guns he would say "Oh ya, I have one of those...." and the next time we got together there was that really rare item! He was also an avid classic car collector. He will be missed.

I see a lot of guns as works of art. Even this gun. It does worry me that it has been used in a murder but the gun did what the person holding it wanted to do. It fired a projectile. Such a shame it was used to hurt another human being.
@jeffreydavidconner Жыл бұрын
First of all I agree with you. My Dads 1911A1 is a work of art to me. For his service. Since it is stamped United State Property. Having said that. Government(the one in power now and 2 year ago) wants gun control. You have to see the irony in this. Cops take a gun off the street(this one used in a murder). After it is used as evidence. Cops put the gun back on the streets. Granted with a background check. I just find the circle of life for this gun funny and sad at the same time.
@harrylime80773 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t worry about it used in a crime as long as it had a police clearance. As far as the creep factor, then all the old rifles you display/sell have the creep factor as they also were used to kill people! Gun used in a killing, haunting. Great story foundation for a ‘Twilight Zone’ type episode!

I had the Covid 19 in Early January 2020. I did have to go to the hospital but never was put on a ventilator. I found that week rather a rough week as I was very ill! My wife also had this. We had gone on a Cruise on the Princess Lines the last week of December 2019. We came back the 31st. We live in a Northern Suburb of Dallas Texas. We became ill on about the 8th of January 2020. Both of us survived and didn't have to be ventilated so we heard this was a good thing! I can tell you one side affect that still bothers me is my sense of taste has really been damaged! My wife's seems to be OK. But everything I like taste strange to me even almost two years later. Today is November4th 2021. You have so many videos I guess I missed a few and this one in March when this came out. We did lose my wife's business partner's Mother and Aunt! Both died of the Covid 19 but both had other health issues and both were rather overweight! Love your videos. Thank you.

I'm 75 years old. I have COPD and a history of congestive heart failure. I got covid in September, and I had a small stroke shortly after that. I was quite ill for several months but I have been slowly recovering since then. My advantages were I no longer smoked (and haven't for about ten years) and my weight has been pretty average, so no morbid obesity. Except for being oxygen dependent now (and I hope to end that soon), I'm close to where I was before all this hit. If anyone should have died with covid, it was me. However, our immune system doesn't curl up and die just because we get covid, so what happens to you really depends on how well you recover from other illnesses. I have the antibodies from getting covid and recovering so, at this point, I don't really need the vaccination. I'll let those in greater need get theirs before I worry about getting it. If you're a young person, your chances of dying from covid are tiny. If you're an old person like me, it's not an automatic death sentence. Just live your life and enjoy yourself. We'll all die from something someday, and worrying about dying from a low mortality virus just doesn't make sense to me. I especially don't want the entire world to change and to destroy everyone's freedom and jobs just to "protect" my sorry butt. :-)

I've known several people who have had Covid. One person had it fairly bad and was down for about a week, others, including me, just worked right through it. I've had several acquaintances and friends who had older relatives pass away. All of them passed from just old age related issues, however, the hospitals and other care facilities all put COVID on their death certificates. The only way for the family members to get the COVID off the death certificate was to sue them. RIP Peter.

Interesting story on this pistol. As for my Covid story. I work at a beauty supply distribution center. We supply supply our stores with inventory. Because we carry face masks rubber gloves and hand sanitizer, we where deemed essential. But because we couldn't ship to our stores in other states we where relegated to online orders. There we worked 10 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week. It was miserable and everyone at my warehouse had to cram into a area that was only layed out to accommodate 20 people at the most. At least I was still working

Just subscribed. Sorry for your loss of your friend Peter. I lost a work friend(Caesar) during the pandemic. I worked with him for over 15 years. It came as a shock since he was very healthy and young. He had just had a boy the year before. Having said that. Was not shocked by this so much until I thought about it. And still not in shock but more of bewildered. I have over the years owned various weapons that have been used in war. I understand that. The first pistol I bought with my own money. A P08 luger for under $600.00(dating myself) most likely killed someone. But that is a war relic. And it has some historical value. But to sell a weapon that was used in a murder. And not a historical one. Just a murder. Seems wrong. As a side note. There was a TV show years ago. It was about a antique shop that sold cursed objects. If this was in inventory. It would be top shelf.

I'm tipping $100 that Kathy went straight to the Police soon after & told them all.
Another possible scenario was that the original owner pawned it & Melvin bought it...buuuttttt you're probably right: he either stole it or picked it up on the street. Always makes me wonder what the "pre-veteran bring back" stories are with some of the PP/PPKs/PO8s shown... Glad you got your shot! Just got my 2nd two weeks ago Friday. A former cop told me that any gun used in a murder or even suicide is called a "blood gun" an commands a higher price when sold on the street. I don't know... My sad story: A cousin of mine had commited suicide in '69. I was told, in error, who now owned the weapon my cousin had used on himself. That person did not own that gun, a S&W .38, but he told me that the guy that got the gun after my cousin's death, had used it on his cheating wife, her lover and then himself. The gun was then destroyed. Two murders and two suicides with one gun!
