I get you are upset but you admitted you read reviews that say it's closed in winter, the woman tried to tell you but she is speaking a second language to try and help you, there was probably a sign at reception with this information too but you are focused on filming. The security guard checking a bag is completely normal and part of his job, they check everyone. To call it a scam is unfair, you misread the signals and there was a misunderstanding. To walk around uttering sarcastic comments and disparaging that woman and the business is disrespectful. Be present, stop and think. If you're going to be travel blogging in foreign countries, get used to misunderstandings and have some empathy for locals just trying to speak English to you.

Sorry for your experience, but really, you had to do more research before deciding to go there. In your previous video from the Three crosses hill TV tower was invisible so I could tell outright that you will not see anything going there. Outside or inside. But I admire your determination to seek out things you want to see!

The main attraction that was originally built for the visitors in this tower was a restaurant Milky Way. The windows of that restaurant are not blocked by any mesh or balcony and you could sit at your table which was placed on slowly rotating floor and do one circle while you eat. Unfortunately for you this restaurant is closed for renovation. The bar that you went to, is just extra solution to have at least something open while main thing is being renovated. And yeah - outside terrace closed for the winter. It is stated in their website, maybe could be stated more boldly or clearly but it is there. I understand dissapointment but it is very weather dependent attraction and weather was not on your side. Another thing that you have a right to be annoyed about and I am annoyed about it as well - poor english and poor comunication skills of the staff. This could have aleviated your frustration.

They have a full conversation in English. She says you won't see anything because of fog, he says I can't go up? She says yes but you won't see anything. So I won't see the city? No, no view, just a white window. He says oh I'm stupid then goes up anyway.
@liutaurasR
@liutaurasR 17 сағат бұрын
You were literally told to not go there because it's a fog and you still went, and then you say it's a scam. I disagree. It's a great place, but you have to go there when weather is clear, either it be day or evening. And ticket lady warned you before paying. It's nice that you come and enjoy, but just don't blame the place for the weather :D
@JonesTravelsss
@JonesTravelsss 17 сағат бұрын
@@liutaurasR I understand what you’re saying, I completely agree about the fog and the weather - my issue is that the entire thing outside was closed (the lady said that it was foggy that was all, not that everything was unavailable upstairs) - and it’s not just me being a stupid “tourist”, the people were rude, the security guy searched my bag and treated me like crap, and the guys were visibly making fun of me at the top (not everything is documented on camera) . I understand that it may be a nice place in summer, but this was my experience of the place and I’m going to document it whether people like it or not - everything else in Lithuania was incredible this was the one place that wasn’t!

I disagree. If the client didn't understand something, it's never his/her fault. A tourist cannot know he must also ask if it's possible to go outside, surely it had to be clearly told and indicated. Anyway, Jones, here's a tiny compensation in shape of a cool gig/set filmed up there by the local producer/musician Ten Walls earlier this autumn: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYLVnKSgdq-Dd7Msi=-uIGkkosP1UJa8HQ Sorry for OT :)

While the TV tower as a monument is an absolute classic and I love it very much, I have to agree that the visitor's experience is not a positive one. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that in Lithuania, only the youth can speak English. Anyone middle-aged or older will at best only know very basic words, if even that. And these are the people you are most likely to see as receptionists and stuff, so I recommend expecting the communication to be poor. Not your fault tho and your experience is valid!

Its writen in tv tower website and I bet somewhere were you bought tickets, that terrace open in the season April - October. When I travel somethere, I'm asking questions if I can go there or how to see something before buying tickets. Or you expect that lady should tell you all info? Terrace is closed 2 month by info what I found in few minutes. Next time just do your homework.

Do some research before visiting places, (not just about tv tower) you just guessing things all around the country and then trying to blame someone for your stupidity :) You actually didn't visit ANY of real historical places like UNESCO heritage, local heritage, or simply googled things. I'm so sorry, its not offense even if it may sound like that, but please, and thats huge advice for your future journeys, do some reasearch before. Invest some time. I do understand that you are still very young and trying your best, but I know you can do it better. Destroy those stereotypes about silly westerners :) I'm still with you and wish you all the best ;)

Frankly, the info on the tower website is incomplete in this regard. There are only some hints. Not that this is specific to us (LTU) though, many tourist attractions struggle with proper communication.
