It’s crazy to think a leather company was one of the the first to release a computer!

The 70s & 80s were the wild wild west!

Also strange that *another* leather company was also a player in the electronics/computer market: Coleco (of ColecoVision fame), or; the Connecticut Leather Company.

That is very interesting, I am going to do some research on Coleco and I might make a video on them in the future :) it appears there is just something about leather companies in the 70s and 80s and being part of the computer revolution xD

I guess Charles Tandy saw he could break off his father's business and make money in a failing electronics retailer and John Roach would continue that vision with computers.

I didn't know that. @@RadRat1138

Your historical technology documentaries are professional and informative. You will end up with a *large* following. Please do not give up. Your channel deserves far more promotion and views. I'm certainly a fan; I have viewed virtually every other English-speaking tech channel on YT, your channel is among those I consider top rate. So here are some well-wishes from Texas, I'm very much looking forward to the next installment of Tech History

I truly appreciate this comment. it has made my week! I am glad that you enjoy the videos! I am working on my next video but I'm not sure when I will have it out, I moved to a new country a few moths back to attend university and there have been unexpected hurdles that are preventing me from recording and posting more videos but hopefully all will be sorted soon and I will start posting more regularly. Thank You for your support and kind words!

Never heard of the Tandy-10, think my Model-II was on a desk like in the video but am not sure.

A site says that it had a metal desk and mine had a white plywood top with metal legs, so I guess it wasn't.

Bought the TRS-80 model 1 in 1979, and taught myself Basic using the manual that came with the model 1. Unfortunately, what started as a hobby, I made into my career, thus ruining my hobby! 😊
