Over Training is the only way to get better. The human body will adapt to the loads you put on it. Like you said with enough rest and proper energy input, we constantly transform daily mentally and physically by over training.

Workout with a weight, perfect form, all sets till failure, 3 minute between sets, as many sets as you can(there will come a set where you can't lift that shit no more, trust me, and by then you will have a pump and a burn you have never felt in your life before)... And then rest as long as it needs for you to recover. Eat a lot. Do loads of cardio on your off days... I suggest 100 non push up Burpees a day, and some walking. Start with a 7-8 rep max weight, and then make it your 20 rep max weight, now you are stronger than before and visibly bigger than before, then add weight again to start with a 7-8 rep max weight which is far heavier than before, and make it your 20 rep max weight again. One compound move for each body part. This was mine: Session full body: 1) barbell overhead strict press 2) pendlay rows 3) flat chest flies 4) pistol squats weighted 5) barbell strict curl 6) good mornings 7) 6 peanut butter sandwiches, each having two whole grain slices and 5tbsp peanut butter... I was capable of doing 2 of those sessions a week. It was a killer though. 20 inch guns 5 years later, rock hard and lean. This is your training cycle and progressive overload.

if your not frying your CNS and getting weaker every workout then you truly dont know the real meaning of overtraining... look at the symptoms of overtraining... your body isnt a robot, your body needs time away from stress physically and mentally, but mostly mentally since your frying your central nervous system going to failure on every set.

So... "Overtraining" = Training? I mean... Isn't this how everyone (that gets results) trains? If you want you're body to grow, then you have to give it a reason to grow. If the body can handle more, then do more. But at the same time, you have to have a bit of downtime once in a while, but its far less than people think. It took me like a year to reach a state of overtraining. And that was a year of working out 6-8 times a week. No de load weeks. Hitting the gym twice on the weekends, getting far to little sleep, working 10+ hours a day doing heavy labor, doing 10x10, working in heavy rep ranges (1-3), working in high rep ranges (21-30), doing endless drop sets, training past failure, rest/pause sets, super sets regularly, and failing reps once in a while. The body can almost always handle more than you allow it to. It wasn't till I finished my cut this summer that I got injured, and that was probably just due to not respecting the weight and rushing through a workout. It was a minor injury, and I chalk it up to just making a mistake than actually being overtrained.

If you think overtraining is bad then you must think over preparing is a waste of time. You must think over success is evil. Or maybe you're just making up an excuse not to go through the pain of getting better. #MP

Except, when most people use the term ‘overtrain’ they mean, ‘train to the point that you are doing more harm then good. As for the, “bioscience IS real science: you are the subject and you’re testing your results” I think that’s legit, everyone can benefit from applying proper scientific method.

+johnathon winberly If training like him works for you and you arent juicing then youre a rare exception. Not the norm. The average human being rquires at least 72 hours for the entire system to recover and GROW. Thats the point. I have seen guys who hve worked out for years and they look like they did 5 years ago. because they overtrain and are naturals. The body says fuck you. You dont give me enough time to grow so I wont. What im saying here is he can talk all he wants. Until he comes out and says oh by the way im on a serious stack. He gets no respect from intelligent people. only gullible fools will follow his word without question.

Just my experience: I think both "sciences" are right. What is "overtraining" to a green weakling is "intensity" to a monster. Just like I couldn't gain any muscle benching 350 lbs when I started lifting (because I couldn't move it), I couldn't benefit from high intensity training (overtraining). I simply wasn't in the shape to process the food, recover, and sustain the work load. Just like the weight needs to get heavier as I get stronger, the workout intensity must increase (3 sets of 10 flat bench just stops being enough). Everyone I've seen condemn "overtraining" usually is talking to people that haven't broken the threshold so their idea of overtraining is really just doing something weak for a long time. They tire their muscles and train them to... well, do something weak for a long time. But watching what CT Fletcher, Kali Muscle (I haven't watched your workouts, but I imagine they are the same from the look of you) call overtraining is using explosive power until there is absolutely none left. That seems like proper training to me, but a weakling can't even begin to output at that level. Short version. Gotta crawl before you walk and train at the proper level for your fitness. Trying to "overtrain" day 1 is probably not even possible unless you're doing little panty weights. At some point "overtraining" is the only way to get your muscles to respond. At least what would have been "overtraining" on day 1.

To me overtraining happens over time. I dont consider overtraining to happen in a day. Thats just called working hard as fuck. For me im overtrained when i feel weaker. during a week and CNS is fried. Then its time to deload for a week. You can never work too hard during a workout that is such bullshit.

(seriously not joking) get in there and get it done biches, stop doing all these 30+ silly ass half ass sets per muscle group. Screw that, im gettin much more growth from this than doing all those sets i used to do (although my 2 sets are very extreme and i havnt seen many people do a set with the intensity i use, hell i dont even count reps, just do it till i cant)

I personally enjoy doing overtraining over the structured workout plans to get you to a goal fastest. I will tell you guys a story, back when I started 5/5 training, I wanted a huge upperbody as a natty but never gave a shit about lower body. So I thought I will train bench, ovh press, rows, deadlifts on the novice 5/5 routine but I will try overtraining with squats using 10rm weights, I have nothing to lose there lol. So for squats, this is what I did, I picked a 10rm weight, and I replied that shit, every set to failure resting 3 minutes between sets, until I got to 50 reps, I would do it twice a week or every other day, and what happened is every time I would do it, I would get stronger the next week, I would train until my 10rep max is my 20 rep max, and then add weight again, start working with my new 10rm weight. So a year passed away, I got to. 180lbs ovh press, a 290lbs bench press, a 300lbs row, a 420lbs deadlift, but my squat???? That shit was 500lbs for 3 reps. That was some crazy ass gains in just 13 months of training. People in my gym were in awe. Then I decided to do this program for bench press, rows, squats, I would do ovh press and deadlift with an intermediate routine, in the next year I got to a 600lbs squat for 1 rep max, and 410lbs bench press. Best gains as natural in my gym. Clearly the balls to the walls give it your all approach worked great for me. I was 15-20 percent body fat year around, and 20 percent body fat means real 20 percent, meaning I had a flat hard core, no guts whatsoever. So imo, overtraining works great when you are young or on trt, and giving yourself recovery time, eating loads of carbs and protein. I was totally plant based(I am from India, and I belong to a fraction of the Hindu religion that don't eat animal products) so that may have helped because excluding animal protein increases muscle recovery and this is proven with science. If it doesn't work for you then run conventional routines. But atleast try it with squats for 2 months and see how you feel.

In my opinion the muscles are almost never the problem. However Ligaments, tendons do not make gains with the rest of your body they can be easily overworked or injured excluding those on the juice.I have never seen anybody discuss these points, joints are the biggest limitation of over training.

overtraining yourself is ok. But remember, everybody has to start with the least amount of work which he can see gains. There is no reason for a beginner to do 33 sets of chest,if he can only grow with 8-10sets…Where will he go when he plateue,if he already works 33sets..AND he never gonna grow stronger. But lots of people fear overtraining, but they under-eat and under sleep. Remember,if you have children,college/work,wife and parents to take care you may not me able to make that kind of gains, even if u have time to exercise, stress is a big factor.
