I didn't feel he was playing the character.. I felt it was real Stefan Bretzki only. You are that good, Jonas.

Loved him in Deutschland 83-89, just imagined he’d have to go into a dark place and like he’s says break out.

Jonas Nay what talent this young man has. I think what he describes about his research hits the top spot. I'm in no doubt it will have been thee most difficult role to play. I'm quite sure he felt on many occassions that he wanted to quit. For me his performance was indeed very powerful. I hope Jonas that the musical role you desire comes to the fore. No one deserves this more than yourself. Your a talented young actor and long may you achieve many more outstanding roles.

Jonas did one hell of a portrayal of Baretski. He peeled back the onion layers to him. I thank God Jonas had the ability to mentally pull back while researching Stefan.. but the fortitude to move forward and give what IMO an award winning performance. I love that he has hopes to channel musical sensations to break away from being boxed into a cliche role. He will shine no matter what he does! I have faith in him as an actor. I look forward to seeing more. ❤

Only watched a few minutes of it, to see Jonas (loved him so much in the Deutschland series). Had to switch it off - it's horrific, heartbreaking, and Jonas is incredible. He portrays that monster superbly, but terrifyingly. What an actor.

This dude played this so well. I could tell right away the character was supposed to be unintelligent . It was noted in his trials. He was also a rat. He gave me the creeps. Great acting. The set work on this show was incredible. I was surprised it wasn't filmed at Auschwitz.

He’s great in the film Persian Lessons, where he also portrays an SS concentration camp guard.

I read this book in a day and his character disturbed me even on the page. The fact he singled out Lali to ‘befriend’ even as he was doing horrific actions against people just like Lali, I couldn’t sleep for days afterwards!

Baretski was a mean and evil person. The relationship between lali and baretski were like brotherhood.
