The US had so many school shootings last year there was one for every day of the year. The UK hasn’t had a single school shooting since 1996. What needs to happen over there to finally convince the feds to restrict gun access and ownership and tighten the law?

Guess who has lead the US in terms of gun violence and violent crime since 1986? California. Guess who has the strictest gun laws in the nation? California.

I don't have any statistics or evidence on me, but I live in Australia, and gun crimes near me have increased. There was a driveby last year and an armed break in

Unfortunately, the NRA has a lot of high-ranking political figures in their pocket, so actually getting laws passed to help reduce the violence nationwide is difficult

Why would they worry about having SWAT at a school after 5PM? Schools are generally empty in the evenings unless there is some school event like a basketball game.

Because people keep blocking improvements to pre-emptive mental and emotional health treatment which would help deal with the issues that cause these incidents

@@danielhaire6677bs its cause they allow civilians to own guns
@danielhaire66775 ай бұрын
@notexist3224 There currently over 435 million guns in legal private ownership in the USA. Yearly, less than 500,000 guns are used in crimes. The majority were not acquired legally. Thus banning guns would be a zero sum effect game to prevent any violent crime including school shootings. Better to focus on fixing the psychological, emotional, and sociological issues that cause people to choose to commit violence against others.
