The Teapot!

Probably my most realistic looking pastry creation!
The teapot and the cups are composed with a crunchy hazelnut streusel, a moist hazelnut sponge, a soft milk chocolate and Earl Grey cremeux, a crunchy hazelnut praline, a light Earl Grey mousse and a fresh Earl Grey tea gelification with edible brown gold leaves.

Guichon’s show on Netflix was the best. The fact that none of the contestants were kicked off and instead got a chance to work directly with him was so refreshing. I can’t stand cooking/baking shows where someone gets kicked off every episode because a contestant may have just had a bad day. Guichon showed patience and a love for teaching and it was the best baking or cooking show I’ve ever seen just for that reason. I truly hope he does another season.

I haven’t had a chance to watch his show yet but just these videos make me long for the days that food network would air the hours long competitions for this like sugar, cake, chocolate, etc. Getting to see that kind of mastery and work was alway an awe, even when I was really little.

this is by far the best review of the show. I know folks have loved it, but I also didn't want to watch a weekly vote-off show. Knowing they all get to stay is wonderful. I will definitely start watching now, tysm.

@@nitenefew129 I watch a lot of contestant cooking shows and it always bothers me when people get kicked off. Guichon is an amazing artist, he is kind and patient as well. I couldn’t believe it that the “losers”, instead of getting kicked off instead got the one on one session with him instead. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

That or modeling chocolate are what cakes need if you want to make them hyper realistic. These are all pastries that can include cake, but aren't limited to it like an actual cake is.

Y’know I'm genuinely curious: do you need to keep the kitchen cool in order to keep the chocolate from melting everywhere? And how does it not melt on your hands?

I'm assuming it's tempered chocolate, which behaves a bit differently. It sets better, has a shine to it, and doesn't melt as easily at the temperature of your palms. It also has a nice snap to it!

Gonna guess that many surfaces the chocolate is rolled out on are refrigerated, and indeed many of the pieces are. But I am not a chocolatier.

Some pastry chefs use marble tabletops and rolling pins when they roll out heat sensitive doughs because the material tends to stay cooler. The counter top seems to look like marble so maybe thats one other reason why the chocolate doesn't melt so easily?
