This story is just awful, I feel so bad for the family and those teens that witnessed it happen, I witnessed something similar as well, it was definitely not as bad as this but it was still scary. So I had two neighbors that were my best friends grandparents and I did a ton of things with them they were basically my grandparents as well, and on my tenth birthday party my neighbors were getting rid of a tree from there backyard that was falling on there house and me and my friends were starting to walk to our backyard when the tree guy was in his truck dragging one of the parts of the tree it hit another part of the tree and flew up and hit my neighbor in the head. I was the one who saw it and screamed for him to stop the truck and the truck guy ran out to help him while I ran up to get my neighbors wife to call the ambulance. Luckily he was ok with just a broken nose,a black eye, and stitches. That was the most crazy birthday I think I’ll ever have.

Call me crazy, but I think the 3 year sentence was the right call. If it is true that those teens killed her unintentionally, or as that one woman said, they pushed the log without even knowing that there was someone down there, you have to feel some kind of way for them. If it was accident then they were just kids doing some stupid stuff with no murderous intentions, but were just at the wrong place at the wrong time, and now they'll have to live the rest of their lives with a murder in their conscience. What really stands out for me is that it was unintentional, those kids had not intention of murder. I feel like a murder only truly counts if the intention was murder, but here, it was prank (more like a dumb decision) or mistake that ended up taking someone's life. So the 3 year sentence is understandable for me personally, 'cause the point of the sentencing wouldn't be to incarate them for life for murder (as it was unintentional), but rather to teach these kids a lesson on there being consequences and for them to understand the full magnitude for their action. Also since they were only 16 and charged with reckless homicide I do feel they're worth being given as a second chance. I think a lot of people make stupid mistakes at that age, whether they hurt people or not, but if they learn from those mistakes, they grow to becoming better people. I feel like they're worth being given another chance, and hopeful can learn from this experience about there being consequences and growing to be cautious and careful.
