It's absolutely wonderful to be able to go back in history do this journey.. I live at Longdown and have often ridden my horse along the sadly deserted tracks. It's very nostalgic to me and I would glance around and imagine what it would be like to see a steam train bustling out of Perridge Tunne.. A speedy retreat for Ted and I would be called for I expect! The odd post and wires are still there and I often wondered about the people who had travelled on this line. Thank you so much compiling this fantastic experience. 😁

The only thing that spoils this is that in all the years I saw it working it was pure GWR motive power 14xx engines on AUTO TRAINS. Prairies and Pannier tanks on heavier passenger trains / goods etc. I saw them in GWR and BR livery but they were all GWR loco’s. Happy days. Now 88 but memories of visiting family at Lustleigh as a boy still fresh. Pat Honey
