All of his co-workers were gone, what could it mean? Stanle- wait... Stanley, where are we? This isn't the office, Stanley did you find another story somehow? Well, let's see where the hell we are... some sort of future-y sci-fi area... plenty of doors around... maybe I can make a story out of this. Stanley, don't go anywhere. For all we know this is a different game altogether and we aren't even important. I'll figure the details out later, just... don't move.

I genuinely love this episode. I know that when you think about it too hard there are a few plot holes in the whole timey-wimey-ness, but honestly, I can forgo the plot holes in a story so long as it entertains me enough, and this story is very entertaining and engaging. I usually have a problem with plot holes in other Moffat stories because the story relies so heavily on how clever it looks by making things connect, but when it doesn't, then it falls a bit flat. This story however has a more central focus on fun and being a cool heist which is why I enjoy it so much.

@thehumanoddity
@thehumanoddity 5 жыл бұрын
@@TheAkashicTraveller It wouldn't. The skull would just sit there, not caving in, the inside of your mind is somewhat hallow which allows the brain to move around. That is why moving your head back and forth quickly is so uncomfortable, you are literally beating your brain on the inside of your skull. Liquefying it wouldn't do anything visible to the skull as it would still be solid bone and retain its shape.

Victims actually remain alive, at least for a period, despite the violent liquefaction of the brain. Probably it's only the cerebrum which is destroyed, leaving behind the brain stem - some basic reflexive and autonomic functions, but that's about it. One of my favourite episodes, i really enjoyed the sci-fi feel that this episode had, the bank, the characters and most of all: the Teller! It's a shame that we only saw human background characters, some alien creatures would've been really cool and would've enhanced the futuristic look of the bank. Unfortunatlely the weak parts start coming in during the end making the ending a bit boring and predictable.

Louis Dexter ....The Doctor went back in time and bribed the architect to put a completely unguarded vent all the way down to the private vault;)

Louis Dexter to be fair, the Andrea Doria had a tunnel with no watertight doors connecting the generator room to the rest of the ships watertight compartments. This allowed the ship to fill with water leading to its sinking

if this thing works by detecting and killing for guilt, what if its something like cheating on your wife or taking candy from a baby rather than grand larceny?

So the lie detector can eat your brain if he detects a lie? I see a flaw in *that* particular setup.

Shows fear of overly powerful banks and a terrible fault of conflicting interests. The teller gets to “feed” on its victims, and is “never wrong”, and the bank has power to do this action and lock up kin as a fear power tactic. Who’s to question abuse? “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”

I'm surprised no one is bringing up the next-of-kin part. Imagine being locked up for the rest of your life because your dad or brother tried to rob a bank.

How is it possible for him to be screaming while he's crying if those tears are the brain turned into a soup? At that point he shouldn't be able to do anything because he'd already be dead

Anyone else see a ton of flaws with this? 1. Detecting guilt only works for those that feel guilty. So, if you're immoral, psychologically damaged, on drugs, etc. The monster can't get you. 2. Guilt doesn't equal crime. What if ate his friends froyo? Bumped into someone? Kicked trashcan by mistake? 3. Next of kin has no reason to be punished for a crime the prosecution doesn't know about. Sentences require an offense. 4. The guy's head wouldn't cave in. He's got a skull and a brain is already floating in liquid, so it wouldn't leak out either.

imagine the leaders of planets come to that bank only to be sentenced death because of some trained animal howling at anyone it meets, and all you need to 'legitimately' kill someone is just let your dog meet them :))
