This is what I think (it may not be 100% right though): 120 BPM - A thrash band once they discover marijuana and start playing sludge instead 160 BPM - Kerry King learned how to play diminished arpeggios 200 BPM - Basicly Necrophagist 240 BPM - Cannibal Corpse on meth 270 BPM - Suffocation 300 BPM - Cattle Decapitation (kinda) 333 BPM - Probably what many Tech Death metal bands like Brain Drill will play once they drop the fucking sweep picking abuse 666 BPM - Pornogrind

I felt that for the last part after the small silence, but the beginning felt most natural to me at 200, but the arpeggio thing still needs to be faster in both, I think.

At 200 bpm, (not so much at 160 imo) the section before the blast beat sounds sorta like The Heaviest Matter or something else off Mars to Sirius

I like the sinisterness of the slower 120. 200 is seems solid too, and I don't care for any of the faster ones, so I'd split the difference and say 160 was my favorite.

This actually puts fantastic perspective onto a riff itself. Depending on the tone and riff you can essentially change genres simply by changing the tempo.

200bpm sounds the most evil to me Speed isn't everything, if you play it too fast, there's no time for the note sequences to have their effect and evoke whatever emotion (in this case brutality and sheer terror)

120 sounds the heaviest by far. Excellent demonstration of how tempo makes a WORLD of difference in how heavy something feels. Something most bands do not understand at all.

Just hit the 240 demo - interesting that 120 is half that and sounds heavy as fuck too! I think it's scientifically demonstrated somewhere that 120 is the default tempo that humans feel most readily. But I could be wrong.

I usually prefer slow and crushing, but holy hell 240 sounded absolutely perfect. I liked all tempos past 120 though, it just got a bit too tame at first.
