To me it's just an "ok" song. I'm a HUGE Temptations fan and in comparison to the other hits Smokie wrote it doesn't even scratch the surface 🤷🏾‍♀️. I predict that this one WON'T be a top 10 hit! Just my opinion and we ALL have one.

@@unapologetic1413 I don't disagree with you however we are in a different era musically. Popular music has passed this type of song structure by. I like to think this is music for us, their fans and those who appreciate the group harmony style. When measuring apples with other apples this song is a decent piece of work. It won't sell big but it will get its plays on the station where OUR music is appreciated.

@@billwings2 Interesting perspective. I do appreciate the harmonies that Smokie constructed in this song, but I honestly feel like his pen/production skills is so much better than this composition. Smokie will ALWAYS be a great song writer/producer, but I feel like this song doesn't even tap into the greatness of his PAST hits of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. I absolutely love old school music from past eras, but I recognize a hit when I hear one and this isn't it. Music has changed, but songs like "My Girl" which was written in the early sixties still has tremendous playing power to people in this this CURRENT decade. The song has been a classic and a hit since the 60's. If it's a classic, it will survive no matter what generation we are in...GREAT MUSIC IS TIMELESS. This recent song of Smokie just isn't GREAT at all to me although it will garner some mild attention...thanks for the feedback.
