No, not even close. Not sure why everybody is repeating it. Especially, considering the size of her pregnancy in the car (at the end of the movie), which most likely was several months after the events, and also she didn't know that particular photo was the one that Kyle was refering to. She has never seen that photo that Kyle was refering to. She had no frame of reference. Just some kid took her photo at that point, at the end of the movie. Thinking about him? Maybe, in a small way. But I bet that lady, at that point was thinking about much larges issues: end of the world, her child, and so on. Even her expression, at the end when the kid is asking her, or telling her: "The storm is comming". And she is responding with "I know". That is some deeper appraoch. Not just thinking about Kyle. She was beyond that at this point, especially when that event was taking palce a few months after she killed Terminator, and was already knew that Kyle was the father of her child.

Michael Biehn, who played Reese, was in quite a bit. He played Hicks in Aliens, Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, Lt. Coffey in The Abyss, he was also in The Rock, The Seventh Sign, Jade, Navy Seals, Planet Terror and others. He was also in a couple of Tv shows, some as guests, some as characters. He was in The Mandalorian for an episode, too. Biehn was a very under appreciated actor, he was really good in everything he did. He still works, and is in contact with Cameron, and Cameron loves using the actors he likes, so I would be surprised if we do not see him again.

Arnie lost his eyebrows and the slight wave in his hair when he went through the fire of the exploding car. In the late 90’s I entered my sculptures in a few conventions in California. There I was lucky enough to meet and briefly hang out with John Rosengrant, Oscar award winning member of ILM. He worked with the SFX crew on Terminator. He won top awards in that convention with a large scale bust of Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was beautifully sculpted and lifelike, capturing Arnie’s personality. BUT if you turn Arnie’s face around, the other half of his face had been ripped open, revealing the terminator underneath. It was an incredible work of art. Beautiful and terrifying. Linda Hamilton will blow you away as Sarah Connor again in Terminator 2: Judgement Day!

It was directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the beloved and legendary female director known for creating very personal action films about young, conflicted men. She would go on to direct films like Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, Detroit, and the original Point Break with Keanu Reeves. She was the first female to win an Oscar for best director. The "Acknowledgement to the works of Harlan Ellison" was added to the credits upon the VHS home release after Ellison did a plagiarism lawsuit against James Cameron. Ellison had a story decades earlier in the 50's about a soldier from the future. Had nothing to with robots or anything, but he felt that was enough to be plagiarism. As this was his first movie, Cameron wasn't the powerhouse he is today, so the studio said that if he fought the lawsuit and lost, they would not bail him out. He had no choice but to settle even though he was confident he would win, he just couldn't take the risk. The full terms of the settlement are still sealed, but that acknowledgement was part of it, and to this day James Cameron has nothing but hatred for Harlan Ellison, who passed in 2018 after losing much of his legacy after a 2006 groping incident on stage at the Hugo Awards.

The idea of an unstoppable killing machine that can’t be bargained with or reasoned with, that doesn’t feel pity, remorse, fear, or pain, and won’t ever stop until it has eliminated the individual it has been programmed to terminate is really terrifying. I can see why The Terminator scared a lot of people back in the 1980s, and still does today given our advancements in technology and the rise of artificial intelligence. Believe it or not, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson were considered for the role of the Terminator, but both turned it down. There was even consideration at one point for O.J. Simpson to play the Terminator. Orion Pictures wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film thanks to his fame portraying the lead in Conan The Barbarian (1982). Ironically, Schwarzenegger was originally considered to play Kyle Reese, but James Cameron didn’t think he was right for the role. So instead, Arnold was cast as the Terminator which suited him much better given his massive muscular build. The actor playing the blue-haired punk was non-other than Bill Paxton. You might remember him from his role as Hudson in Aliens. He was also in Near Dark (1987), Predator 2 (1990), Tombstone (1993), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), and Titanic (1997). You’ll see that he collaborated with James Cameron in several other films. One of the police detectives is played by Lance Henriksen, who also went on to collaborate again with James Cameron in Aliens. He has had a very long and successful career, but his role as Bishop the android in Aliens is probably one of his most memorable. The actor playing Kyle Reese is Michael Biehn. He played the role of Dwayne Hicks in Aliens. He was also in The Abyss (1989), Navy SEALs (1990), Tombstone (1993), The Rock (1996), and Planet Terror (2007). The man will always hold a special place in our hearts for his part in Terminator and Aliens. Biehn impressed everyone with his audition as Reese. Most of the other actors who auditioned for the role tried portraying the character as tough and macho, while Biehn had more of a vulnerability about him and came across as more human in a way that connected with audiences. He did an amazing job portraying soldier traumatized by his experiences in a future post-apocalyptic war. It makes sense why he’s so skinny since I can’t imagine food being good or plentiful where he comes from. He also had great chemistry with Linda Hamilton who did an amazing job as Sarah Conner, who goes from an average young woman living a normal life, to a legendary badass. It’s amazing that a lot of people at the time thought that this would be a crappy B-Movie. It had a relatively low budget of $6.4 Million at the time, but it ended up defying all expectation. The Terminator became an iconic film that would spawn one of the greatest sequels ever made. You ladies are the reason why I love this channel. You definitely have to show Abby Demolition Man. I would love to see her reaction to the rat burger and the three seashells.

Sarah's roommate, Ginger, was played by Bess Motta. She was probably the most popular of the instructors on "20 Minute Workout". In addition to the films, Terminator was also made into a television series (none of the film actors reprised their roles). The only actors I can remember from that series are Summer Glau, and (I don't remember her name) the lead singer for the band Garbage.

The fascinating thing is that this movie serie and the Matrix are connected through the author: In the Early eighties, Sophia Stewart wrote a copyrighted original epic science fiction book and script called The Third Eye Matrix. That body of work was later adapted to the screen as the Matrix and Terminator Movies Series and Trilogy😮

The 2nd-in-command white cop was Lance Henriksen. He was originally chosen by James Cameron to be the Terminator, because the idea was to have a Terminator who could infiltrate society without attracting attention. Arnold talked James into casting HIM as the Terminator instead, so Lance got this minor role. He does get redemption as the android in the film "Aliens" :)

This movie cost $6.4 million dollars to make but brought in $78.3 million dollars which was big bucks back then. One of my all-time favorite movies of course there were several sequels the second being the best by far.

@@drlee2, I won't say I dislike it but the story made zero sense & was a pure cash grab on the original. Kudos for the wonderous sfx & big bangs but the danger element wasn't there & it was bloated. Definitely a case of more being less..................

Your friend Abby's reaction was so great, totally unaffected by the usual cultural references. I think she only was familiar the 'I'll be Back' and not even sure of the context for that one! For all those in the comments that saw this at the cinema on release... "Hey that guy didn't pay!" You got me Burnin

2:21 Yep, that is the late great Bill Paxton. I believe he is still the only actor to have had a character killed by a Terminator, a Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, and a Predator in the Predator franchise.

James Cameron (Director) said that they didn't have a budget for getting licenses to shoot the car chase scenes and stuff so they basically did 'gorilla filmmaking'. Which was essentially that they would show up to a location, shoot the shots and leave quickly before the police came because of people calling in disturbances and such. Also, if you thought Sarah was badass in this one, you should see her in Terminator 2. T2 is one of the few sequels that is probably better than the original. (Helps that they had a much bigger budget, though)

There’s a deleted scene where Sarah and Reese decide to try stop judgement day after Reese has an emotional breakdown at the world he’s seeing - by blowing up the factory responsible - Cyberdyne. That’s why the make all the bombs and make a relative bee-line for the robot factory. IMO that was essential and I am so glad I can watch it with that context. Ties well with T2.

Now you have to see Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The Terminator and T2 were the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for my generation. The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. Some of the effects stand out like a sore thumb. But The Terminator is still a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal. I mean, Linda Hamilton was so great in T2, she made Sarah Connor one of the greatest, strongest, most iconic female roles ever put on film. Her Sarah Connor is right up there with Cameron's own Ellen Ripley in Aliens and Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind.
