If you aim the opposite way of a chasing boss you can hit them with the projectile twice as they pass it and then it catches back up, this allows for bosses like skeleton to be defeated even faster, although it does take some getting used too.

Lucy the axe is a good secondary to the night’s edge. I sometimes take on deerclops after KS and EoC. You have decent accessories usually being regen and movement, with either gold or platinum armor, and either yoyos or a projectile sword.

This spell becomes extremely crucial in master mode, especially if you are stuck with gem staffs and no other magic weapon(in the case you depleted your shadow orbs/crimson hearts and no wands). In classic its just a simply powerful weapon, but most of the time in expert or master you're actually locked until you obtain this weapon to progress (gem staffs suck at crowd control, don't get me wrong they are still useful for very early game but that's about it.) my usual playthrough consists of : -get diamond/ruby staff -max out health mana -obtain jungle armor -farm demon scythe -go ham Heck im grinding for it as i type this

Pre-hardmode is easily my favorite part of Terraria. I hate how incredibly linear hardmode can feel. The fact that you can, if you have the skill, go straight to the final boss and kick its ass before any of the others is quite compelling. Each boss unlocks useful new content, yes (even the Eye of Cthulhu on expert, that shield is a lifesaver) but all of it is optional, and it opens up so much out of order stuff like this if you're bold enough to go where you're aren't supposed to be.

Tbh, I would agree if it weren't for the severe deficit of movement... I absolutely hate the lack (or really harsh obtainability) of anything meaningful for movement through all of prehardmode. I also quite like the huge amount of optional stuff in hardmode too, some of it is really cool.

duke fishron being pre-mech is a nice little "progression" skip. You still have to kill the other bosses to get to moon lord, but they'll be a piece of cake.

Yeah, this weapon is really powerful. Kinda weird to aim but the damage makes it worth it. Also maybe you could do a video on the Venom Dart Trap, it was added as a new item in 1.4.4 and it's probably the best trap for AFK farms till you get Temple Traps. Or maybe a video on Stinger Necklace, one of the best pre-hardmode accessories.

Theres a few optimisations. If the enemy is chasing you, Shoot AWAY from the enemy. So the lingering projectile stays in the enemy and doesn't go straight through it

I once made a video about this particular weapon, and posted the video in my channel. I like viewing Demon Scythe as the pre-hardmode version of the Razorblade Typhoon, because just like how the Razorblade Typhoon, being a pre-mechs weapon, carries you to Moon Lord, the Demon Scythe not only carries you to hardmode, but can be used against Duke Fishron (it's just something I tried. You should fight him post-Golem) One flaw of the Demon Scythe is how its projectiles are quite slow. Against fast bosses, just like the previously mentioned, Duke Fishron, the Demon Scythe struggles to hit the boss consistently, so I like to accompany the weapon with faster weapons such as the Amber Staff or Space Gun if I've already defeated the evil biome boss. Here is a useful tip for any player who wants to farm Demon Scythes early on: Build a house, place a bed, and set your spawnpoint near hell. The enemies in the underworld are hellishly powerful and can one-hit any weak player on Master Mode.

@@nal929 yeah on its own its not a bad weapon, but compared to the other early hardmod weapons its lacluster at best. Want CC? Use the crystal serpent demonsythe or even the crystal vile shard. Want high single target damage? Use the sky fracture or meteor staff (or if your luck the laser rifle). Want a support weapon? The life drain and clingger staff are solid options. Want an early game power house? Flower of frost or posion staff, or if your skilled enough THE RAZER BLADE TYPHOON. There are just soo many better options for early hardmod mage weapons that the only reason to craft the crystal storm, is beacuse of how dirt cheap it is to make.

Hey sockrteez please review the yelets as you haven't reviewed a single yoyo yet and after beating the destroyer with the shadowflame knife the next two mechanical bosses are just single targets which yoyos excel in and if used a yoyo bag can destroy these mechanical bosses no problem and can even take plantera down due to the reasons I mentioned above as yoyos excel in single target combat please consider it.(by the way it is obtained as a drop from any jungle enemy in the jungle biome so you can showcase your mob farm for a millionth time)😊

The Waterbolt is one of my favorite early spells and it CAN be obtained before going into the dungeon - if you're lucky. Since it's simply sitting on a dungeon shelf, there is a chance of getting it before the Dungeon Guardian becomes savvy to your presence. It's Very mana efficient and while not the highest DPS, it has infinite piercing and ricochets off walls. It also gives minor illumination making it awesome for scouting ahead AND it will break false dungeon floors.

This is easily my favorite weapon in the entire game. I dont know why its nothing too flashy but with the sheer damage, ramping speed, and flexability with this weapon makes it so much fun to use against enemies and bosses alike. And for people saying that the initial speed is bad, i think the demon scythe would be worse without it. The fact that it sits for a moment makes a shield around you when you stand still for enemys, and allows you to hit an enemy with your projectile way more than something as fast as the end speed. Shoot infront of you while running away from spinning skeletron amd youll see what i mean. Ive gotten like 350-400 dps easily agaisnt skeletron single target

if you dont have restrictions on what you can use, i suggest bringing a whip or something similar if you're farming for this on higher difficulties (otherwise if you're with a group ask your summoner to help). it helps so much against imps which me and my friends die to pretty often when we're inside with not much space to dodge while waiting for enemies

Before playing mage, I was a fan of this weapon. And I was excited to get this thing for myself.. But when I did got it.... I started hating it. I can't deny that this weapon is great, but I felt like this thing was worse than book of skulls, fire flower, water scepter and all other post Skeletron mage options. And, even against Skeletron, for me, it was not great. Mostly for 2 reasons.Firstly, optimal range for demon scythe is pretty close, since it's projectiles start flying a few seconds after firing. And second, mana potions. Yeah. This was a big problem for me. So, bee machine gun was just better, and in the dungeon itself, it was lackluster too. And, after I got water candle and farmed Skeletrom for book of skulls, I didn't even touched demon scythe for the rest of pre-hardmode. And in early hardmode I really wanted to try out sky fracture. I didn't really liked it though, so I mainly used crystal serpent and ichor rain, which is one of my favorite weapons by far and the one I wanted to use in the first place above everything else. So, demon scythe was almost not used by me. And yes. I was at master. So it was no easy task going underground with less than 0 armor and ruby staff to die against imps. So, for me, I don't think that demon scythe is broken.

I have to agree with this one. The Boomstick's DPS is very comparable to late pre-hardmode weapons such as the post-Skeletron Phoenix Blaster, especially if all the bullets hit the enemy, which is very easy to do. It becomes even more powerful and satisfying to use with the Meteor Shots. In my opinion, it's better than the Minishark and it's easier to obtain.
