Some of the footage is speed ramp but I do show the natural flow in the slower spots but yes the flow on this eruption was VERY fast

Oh yes ! This is "terrible Beauté", Natur pure ! I am very "intéressée" of Volcanos, earthquakes, tsunamis, géologie, weather, storms... our "blue" planet is still leaving. Supers vues de cette éruption ! And now, I've heard of another volcano named MARAPI, on Sumatra. Hello from France 👍😀💚🌍🐝🐦🐜🐸🐱🐶🐧🐒🌻⚡🌋

This seems to be a very unique volcano that erupted along the side of it from a long fissure stretching from top to bottom instead of blowing its top! Cool, thanks K!
@BeautifulVolcanoEruptions Жыл бұрын
HI Lutemule! Thanks for your comment. What you are looking at is called a Pyroclastic flow made of lava, pumice, hot ash and volcanic gasses. The flow starts at the top of the volcano vent and travels down the mountain at breakneck speeds! Several massive flows happened on this day, including several dome collapses.

No it wasn't a fissure just a pyroclastic flow

Beautiful and terrifying. I've never actually seen a pyroclastic flow do that before - moving sideways? Did the wind pick it up or something?
@fadlkarmula8776 Жыл бұрын
It is actually a lava domes that collapse. You can call it landslide. It is an opposite of avalanche. In avalanche you got snow, ice and freezing temperature. In pyroclastic flow you got hot rocks, hot ashes up to 300°C.
@nancybarnes7109 Жыл бұрын
It is a pyroclastic flow but it only gets as far down the mountainside is it's going to and then the wind begins to blow away the lighter material, and if I'm not mistaken, that's what you're seeing blowing off to the side. If you notice that initially when it comes down it's very direct in its path, but once it gets as far as it's going, that's when you see the lighter ash and such blowing off to the side.

Why was it found to be necessary to speed the footage up by 4x?
@BeautifulVolcanoEruptions Жыл бұрын
Hi Jordon! The speed varies from real-time to several speed ramps. I do this on all my videos. I think it is beautiful to see how the ash moves when the video is sped up so I do a lot of timelapse videos.
@BeautifulVolcanoEruptions Жыл бұрын
Hi Jordon. I still have the raw footage. If you would like I am happy to upload a realtime video of the eruption! Just reply to this comment and let me know!
