Wow! Your story is almost a carbon copy of ours. We hired a van with a fixed bed and hated it. David is too tall so was scrunched I was trapped. Roll forward 6 months David had ordered our van and ‘surprised’ me. He got it right … I love it 💕 Our hired van is one of our early vlogs to see my 😡 Liked and subscribed 💕 David, Rachel & Roxy 🐾

He bought a car once without me and won’t make that mistake again! 😂 Great point about trying before you buy to find out what works and what doesn’t. We brought our Escape 674 in April 21. Your channel was one of the first I watched to try and get a feel for the interior, it was really handy! We brought it for similar reasons to you. We had also rented for a week in Benimar that head rear twin high beds. It was a great experience but we really missed having somewhere to sit once the kids were sleeping. The other moho we considered was the RollerTeam Auto-Roller 746. It also has the rear lounge but there is a permanent over-cab bed which is ready to sleep in at all times. Eventually we found a great bargain on the Escape 674, the rest was history. The lack of ready-to-sleep beds is a bit of a pain, but we're getting quicker at setting it all up. Our 2 children were topping and tailing on the pull-down but we recently bit the bullet and started setting up the dinette bed. I always struggled to get the table to lock down but I seem to have found the knack for it now. We don't set it as a full double but its good enough for our 9 year old to be able to sleep widthways across the moho and she is happy not having to share with her brother. We have also brought a king-size memory foam topper which we cut down the middle and then placed inside a duvet sheet. IT rolls during the day and is ready to sleep on the second we roll it out on to the singles at the bac. We're now ready to sleep in just a couple of minutes without the jigsaw puzzle of all the cushions. The cupboard door I agree is a pain! I've seen the Wandering Bird video where she says they removed the door and replace it with a nice curtain. Could be worth considering but I imagine loads of things falling out whilst in transit! We do wish there was more accessible storage space, having just one small garage door is a pain for stowing things away. All in all, we're loving the 674 life, and we can't wait for more adventures this year! Thanks for the videos!

You sound like you're sorted for the beds now, but if it's of any use I did a video of converting them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r57UZ55_ftSqqrs We use a similar trick with a kingsize bed topper but we do convert the bed. It's very comfy.

@@2.4inaVan Yes seen the video. I should add that we also have 2 dogs onboard, so life is just generally easier if we have a bit of space to move around at the rear when we are sleeping. If we don't have the dogs (or the kids) for any of our trips we make up the full size bad at the rear and leave it that way for the trip, the two toppers simply get pushed together. The toppers really transformed our sleeping and saved a fortune on the Duvaley costs.

Paid deposit on an Elddis new, delivery kept getting delayed, joined elddis owners Facebook, read countless stories about damp build quality etc. got scared and ended up buying 3 year old Carthago and love it. So there you are. Saw your channel tonight from Martin and Helen’s collaboration and will now watch all of your videos, you two have similar attitudes to ours.

Great to have you guys on board. This story sounds familiar to ours - I reserved ours over the phone whilst I was at work 😂 glad to see someone else who doesn’t have a fixed bed too. I agree it’s not arduous 😂 Clare on the other hand is shaking her head. Great work both 😊
