I think those toxic fans are metally sick because a normal person wouldn't be delusional. Loving idols is normal being with hopes of dating them one day is out of this world. Can an idol with over million fan date them all? Even if he choses one others won't be happy. I mostly focus on idols' work and with them happiness with whoever they date. We should give idols some space because they are also humans.

I think in XiaoZhan case, more than about his fans it's his choice to concentrate on his career right now. Because majority of xz fans are matured fans who will only be happy to see him get married. I have seen many fans praying for him to find a good partner. So for currently he might be knowing he can't invest much time in relationship which is unfair to his partner too, so choosing not marry. But yeah I have also seen some crazy fans who leave their idols after they got married😵‍💫

The real problem here is reliance on fans for stars' brand endorsements. When a star is dependent on fans for this kind of support, the fans feel they own him and he feels obligated to them. This is a bad relationship and the system needs to end. Brands should sell goods based on their own marketing and quality, not on fan purchasing power. If that dependence were removed, stars would have proper control over their own lives which is what should be the case. Genuine fans enjoy their idol's performances; fake fans demand total control over their idol's romantic life, work life, co-star choice - this is ludicrous, fans are not capable of guiding these choices, they are not professionals in entertainment.

Perhaps it is time for the government to allow higher salaries for stars in order to reduce the pressure on young fans to buy products like this. Of course this is all tied in with China's economy at present where so many young people are currently unemployed. I hope things can get better.

It has nothing to do with Asian actors. I am an Indian. The film industry is one of the biggest in the world. Several Indian actors and actresses are internationally famous. Many of them, both men and women are happily married, have kids and have flourishing careers as well. They are balancing both personal lives and careers nicely. There has been no ebb in their popularity. In fact, ever since our film industry started flourishing more than 80 years before, male actors had comfortably been married and remained at the peak of their careers for long. There were certain reservations against actresses. Thwy usually gave up acting before getting married, but that concept also changed in the 1970' s. Several leading actresses continued their careers successfully inspite of being wives and mothers. This fanaticism is typical of China. I am sure about other east Asian countries. But, in the Indian subcontinent, fans have no problem in accepting the spouses of actors and actresses..

Terribly unhealthy that crazy fando(o)m. It is a pandemic development that groups of people idolizing a person believe they own him/her due to their support. That is no support but blackmail. Again managements pressuring celebs to keep up a certain image is the accelerator. There are also fan crowds supporting relationships - see Taylor Swift. The difference is - she always stood for certain values - strength, independence, fighting speaking your truth and relentlessly defending your right of happiness within and outside of relationships. So the crowd she attracted and talks to has different expectations. Celebs should switch to that approach - stay true to your values, communicate them and not the lala idol dream crap managers, media etc. want them to spread for likes, followers etc.
