I recall listening to Elizabeth Elliott on the radio and hearing her tell a story of one time when she was in a store like cloth world buying some material and one of the ladies behind the counter was very snappy and rude to her. She was tempted to explain to the woman she should not behave that way but instead asked her if she was having a bad day. The woman replied something like " yes my husband died a couple months ago and I found out just this morning I have cancer". Mrs Elliott was very glad she did not return the ladies anger as she had had no idea what the woman was going through.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah while being overwhelmed by some of the worst things life can throw at a person may not be an excuse it's understandable to a reasonable person. Elliott, while giving that explanation for the woman, was not really addressing whether or not her attitude was justified by understandable and she was mainly saying WE should respond well as Christians, that is our duty, and not allow others to dictate our right response.

Biblical GOD is only true GOD. I believe God doesn’t love us because of our obedience to Him, But because of his great love for us... ( just my opinion)
@biblicalgodisonlytruegod
@biblicalgodisonlytruegod 4 жыл бұрын
Howard Manley.... Indeed! Once you have been JUSTIFIED, you have the desire and ability to be obedient. Man is not the determinator of his soul. God is. There is nothing man can do to get approval from God and enter into eternal life when we die. We are “saved” (from God’s punishment of sin) when God supernaturally GIVES us faith and repentance. “for by grace you are saved, through faith, and this (faith) is not of ourselves, but the gift of God, not of works... lest any man should boast.” (Eph.2:8-9) So, the very instant you recognize that Christ took the punishment that you deserve for your sin, it means God has given you the gift of eternal life. “And He opened their minds to understand”. Ezekiel 36:26 New International Version (NIV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. So, I hope you understand what He did on the cross and ... that you are telling others! Witnessing is absolutely imperative to a Christian’s life. Dr. Kennedy said, that he could not believe anyone could claim to be filled with the Holy Spirit if not witnessing on a regular basis. The most exhilarating experiences of my life have been witnessing (being obedient even when I did not want to) and seeing God transform a human soul right before my eyes. What an honor to see that. He wants us to see that. Love in Christ.

Oh my gosh, I had not heard that quote but whole heartedly agree. I remember that Jim Elliot and his team never considered fighting back if they were attacked.... u don't hear this teaching alot. I also have found in my greatest sorrow, God revealed Himself the most. I am an unworthy servant of Jesus🙏🙏🙏
@biblicalgodisonlytruegod
@biblicalgodisonlytruegod 4 жыл бұрын
Sandy Speaks .... And the highest form of obedience... is WITNESSING! Must! Must! Must! It is as much for you as it is for the person you are witnessing. Just say... “May I tell you something wonderful?” No one ever says no. “ The instant you recognize what Jesus did on the cross, that he took the punishment FROM GOD that you deserve for your sin... God gives you the GIFT of eternal life!” That’s the gospel in one breath. We are OBEDIENT out of gratefulness that He ALLOWED us to understand! I’m convinced that witnessing is the most important daily activity for a Christian... and gives us “the fullness of Christ”... the most enjoyable, thrilling moments of our life! What an honor that God WANTS US, DIRECTS US, to participate in making a blind man see!

She brainwashed my son, physically beat my stepdaughter for remaining friends with the only dad (and her step mom who was truly more of a mom) that she ever knew,, and continued her pattern of drugging drinking, lying, thieving, and infidelity with several other boyfriends/ perhaps even another husband (or two?)

@@saintejeannedarc9460 I was truly blessed. Our Lord put my wife in my life when I had no interest in a relationship. We talked casually for months before she asked me to go to an 'unwedding reception'. A friend of hers had rented a hall for her wedding reception and the groom had backed out. The deposit was non refundable so they had a get together. This was in 1993. I had been single three years. It was a different world to be with someone I could trust. We've been married twenty eight years. My ex still spews hatred. My stepdaughter passed after a motorcycle incident in 2011. She wasn't talking to her birth person. I rarely ride due to an industrial injury, but when I do, or when my wife and I are around put in bay and the islands, which Scarlet loved, it's like she's with us Still pray that the ex can get her stuff straightened out -- God doesn't want anyone to perish ----

Obedience is the highest form of worship ~ Elizabeth Elliot. Thank you precious Woman of God. I needed to hear this after my son, Asher Isaac’s 1st Year Memorial on the 17th March 2021. He was only 33 years young. A precious young man who was born with eternity in his huge tender loving and very caring heart. Asher loved God and served Him since a teen, reaching out and witnessed to his friends and schoolmates... But God loved him so much more and wanted Asher back home with Him. Never knowing this most intense heart shattering pain, this message is speaking to me so deeply on many levels. 🙏🏼💙🌹🌿🌹🌿💔💔💔

The greatest thing that helps me to suffer & endure is to know that I must die to self. There can be no more of us left, only Christ. If you read all the scriptures that entail dying to oneself you will be comforted in your afflictions & you will be able to endure until the end. Christ will be here any moment , please hold fast intil the end. We are buried with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives through me. Make Christ Lord over your life & let Him live through you. Its the only way to live & survive these end times.

Three generations of her family were saved inside 2 years of our conversion, despite them not liking me at that time. I was raised on the Bible and given a great example from my step parents and grandfather. I was taken away from my parents as a baby. My life was difficult to say the least. It’s affected me and my other friends. It makes me feel so sad. I keep trusting God, the walk isn’t easy, But doesn’t everyone have their problems and losses. My suffering helps me release this world and look forward to taking my place as a citizen of heaven. To my surprise many Christians don't see this as the wonderful miracles it was. I didn't become suicidal, just a woman who could see life after death, free from the ties of this world and graceful to be free. This is salvation, Im free and live this life in that freedom. Not looking for heaven on earth anymore, but knowing home through christ is with me. I thank God for the suffering that brought me to christ, just as his suffering made him my savior. Suffering makes us the diamonds God what us to be.

Wow.... I have to listen again. I'm in awe right now of the excellency of the God's word. It's so profound. The way I look at suffering will forever be the same. God cannot be blamed nor will He ever be convinced a liar. There are two realms: the natural and the spiritual. The word of God is to be applied not just to our current situations but also to those things that we can't see. Okay, let me go and study this some more...

Yes it's not in a theory or philosophy but in the Man Christ Jesus, the I AM, the Lover of our souls. Romans 8:28-29 is true! Have read all Elizabeth's books with great interest and always wondered of her daughter Valerie. Go to your husband and lay your hands on him, and command, in the name of Jesus Christ, for those spirits of fibromylagia, pain, sickness and weakness to leave. Just be thankful that you're not in Hell right now, because, really, that's what you really deserve. You seem to forget that "people" as it were, are an accursed race who has fallen short of fulfilling the purpose they were created--to glorify its Creator (yes, and that is what it's meant by "falling short of the glory of God). I personally would be exceedingly surprised at the fact that a just and sovereign God does allow some people to have times where they don't hurt... to say nothing of the surprise at His providing atonement on the cross.

Mrs Elliot: you are amazing say the words you speak. I I'll listening to you was hoping to hear about a logical reasoning on where is God. To me I cannot fathom pain being permitted from a creator that loves and he knew from the beginning all the pain that he and his Providence new would come about. It to me as two others has been explained bye the choice that Adam ate of the tree. What is the logical is that the Creator supposedly almighty God did not want them to eat of the tree yet he placed it in the spot where he knew the sin would take place. You and others may say there's the answer sin. It was the sin of man that caused all this suffering and pain. Yet to look at it from another perspective that God himself designed everything in such a way even designing man's mind with all the processes of thought which he himself had to initiate. That is a lot to think about and I cannot work around it nor does it make any sense to me mrs. Elliott. When I was younger I had the book through Gates of splendor and viewed the pictures in it and read much of the writing in the book. I was not thinking about much then and did not see the depth of suffering did I have come to see around me. I had a very loving mom who went through much hurt and pain and said to me Jeff I still believe. what a wonderful mom that what's a wonderful example. When I think of her I cannot live up to who she was and how she thought and believed in God. I am hoping someone you or other person can give me a logical reasoning to believe that God is love. Respectfully Jeffrey

Dear Jeffrey, Your comment caught my attention because of some similarities regarding family relationships. I'm happy to hear that you had a wonderful and loving mother. I understand that she was also a believer and that left behind an amazing legacy. (note- English is not my first language). Now, regarding your request of a logical argument for a Loving God, I believe that "the logic of love" is tangled, is in connection with the other logics: "the logic of suffering", "the logic of good and evil", and "the logic of freewill". They all have their mystery, together and separately. Because of the language barrier I can't explain exactly all my thoughts on this subject, but If you like reading than I warmly recommend 2 books by Ravi Zacharias on the subject of suffering, first is "Beyond opinion" and second "Why suffering" I appreciate you because you search for things, good things I don't think it's anything wrong with asking questions. That's why I appreciate your question/s May God bless you abundantly with the answers that you are searching for!

What a life she lived. Incredible difficulty, suffering and pain, coupled by equally incredible faith and assurance, evidencing a walk with God that allows one to keep moving forward through the deepest difficulties, even when neither God, nor His plan can be seen. AN ANSWER TO REMEMBER . . "Lord remember the time when I was so down and I began asking you rebellious questions? I asked if it was really true if you are powerful; I have asked that why then is evil and suffering present in this world. I am sorry for that. If I questioned your plan or whether you really have a plan. . . But it was the most comforting answer I ever heard. (For I commended some of my friends when they tried to give an explanation: One told me that it was only in this dimension where I have my own freewill that love will exist, And another told me that only through this ultimate test of the existence of evil that you can create an unwavering trust and love in me; All of which the end result they say is so that man can enjoy you forever as you in turn manifest Yourself to them). . . But you revealed so much more, You poured Your heart to me, in an aching heart you said, "But from the beginning it was not so" (Matthew 19:8). I then burst in tears and I can't forget your gentle hands wiping them when it kept rolling down my cheeks. How much you were misinterpreted! How much you were slandered! How much you were evil spoken of! . . When all this time this is what you wanted to do, as You have said, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" (Luke 2:14) And that infact, even though You are our God, you are the Owner and Maker, yet before you came into this earth and became man like us, Your angels declared, "On earth peace, good will toward men." Matthew 23:37 Your banner was love, for You "so loved the world" (Jn.3:16) You didn't come to condemn us, neither to make war with us. But it is US that alienated ourselves from You. "We simply would not" You came unto Your own, and Your own received You not. John 1:11 . . Now I fully understand that it was not what You intended; It was not Your will. Most of it all, our woes and miseries, are because of the hardness of our hearts (Matthew 19:8). Altho' you have Your persmission, but all the evil that issued from it are not from Your hands--- Neither came from your heart. . . For "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17 And "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:" James 1:13 You even said, "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:8-11 . . When Lucifer rebelled against God, he became Satan---the devil; And when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, they sinned And were thrown outside the Garden--- the entire creation were cursed for their sake. I will not then be deceived, now I know that we were born in an already evil and fallen world, Only the Light that You are entered once more into this scene: to lighten up and make this world filled with darkness a better place---until You made all things new on the day of our complete redemption; When You have finally restored all things that sin has destroyed; When we are finally "delivered from the bondage of corruption" and be "in the glorious liberty" that you have prepared. Indeed this has been the reality unfolding that "the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." John 1:5 " . . . -Kristo Hari Villaver

So I won't try to write some happy I am suffering but I've got so much joy kind of ordeal. I haven't felt that in a long time. But I do think I understand. There is suffering in this world because of our sin nature. God allows it to strengthen us and sometimes to show patience for others. But the point of the matter is that suffering is a result of sin. Sin dwells in us and suffering rids us of it. And those who do not rid themselves of it through God's grace will be held accountable for it. That is all. It exists because we exist. It remains because we allow it to remain. But in time, God will bring it to an end once and for all. We need only to endure it to allow it to purify us so that we may remain with Him as He removes all that is corrupt. This all can be found in the Bible. We just need to calm down enough to really think about it and learn to accept it. No amount of grieving and good works is going to make the bad go away or make God feel pity for us so He will give us a good life. Otherwise we would end up loving this life and not really loving Him. Suffering forces us to run to God and to cling to Him. All He wants is our love. And suffering can do just that. Again, you can find this in the Bible.

The Spirit of Truth abides in the scripture, it is the Messiah himself. How can we embrace other teachings that are void of the Messiah/truth???? Return to your first love brothers and sisters!

The answers to those sufferings about the children are caused by the sins of their parents. Our sufferings are caused by us. We are forgiven but the consequences of our sins caused us to suffer. You said it right, the kingdom of this world is not God's kingdom, the invisible one. Christ said in John 18:36, My kingdom is no part of this world... The sufferings are of this world not God's!

Hi Kenneth, That is 11 years of loss and suffering. May God send the waters of life over your broken body, right now, and raise you up, in Jesus name, by the blood of Jesus, amen. I will see you walking in Heaven, and we will worship God, all of us broken children, together. Love Holly 🕊🌿🍀🌳🌲🌴🌵☘🌿🍃🌹🌲🌴🌳🌵🌻🌾🕊🌿🍃☘🌱🍀🥀🌹🌲🌴🌳🌵🌻🌾🕊🌿🍃☘🌱🍀🥀🌹🌲🌴🌳🌵🌻🌾🕊🌿🍃☘🌱🍀🥀🌹🌲🌴🌳🌵🌻🌾🕊🌿🍃☘🌱🍀🥀👼❤💛💖💚💚💚💚

Brothers and Sisters, we must not forget that GOD Loved the World and gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. That is the greatest gift of Love, Mercy, and Grace ever given to mankind, and to live a life of Love, Faith, and in Obedience to the Word of GOD, having the Faith and Testimony of Jesus Christ. But we as believers are to suffer for the good things that GOD has revealed and given us, His Glory is the whole purpose of the Church, to save us and not sufferings for the wrong direction of the World, which cannot accept the Truth of the Cross that Christ Jesus Suffered in our place for us! We must in Faith, Love, and Hope, with all our obedience take up the cross and follow the Lamb whenever He goes, but if we are to suffer, know that Christ Jesus suffered the things that we should have suffered, yet, He was without sin, becoming sin for us, baring the iniquities wrath and penalty of death that we deserve! Jesus Christ overcame the World, and defeated the devil and brought mankind to make a choice? We should all live and die for GOD'S purpose of promise, which is everything in Christ and not any purpose of the World. Blessed be GOD the Father, and our Savior, Jesus Christ, His Kingdom Forever Eternal, Amen 🙏❤️👑❤️
