So glad to see this location was saved and is continuing. It was going downhill and like the Riverwalk during the post Hemisfair era was unsafe to visit. Lost track of San Antonio happenings when we moved away. Thanks Shaun.

I visited for the first time, not knowing what to expect. From the parking lot you trudge up a big flight of stairs, and when you get to the top is a great “ah-ha!” moment when you arrive at a pavillion and see the whole garden as a giant basin bellow you. Its a surprise-you don’t expect the reveal.

I remember the sky tram going over the gardens back in the 70s when I was a kid. My mother and grandmother took me to Brackenridge Park, zoo, and gardens many times... the mini train going around the park was a must do.

Born and bred San Antonian and went to so many shows at Sunken Gardens, we called it Snuck in Gardens because ran thru those gardens and snuck into the shows

I didn’t know that this was still there. I’ve only been there a couple of times in the early to mid sixties with my parents and I wasn’t very old at the time but I was very impressed by it. Some day I will need to revisit it.
