I agree. We're neither Mexican American, or Americans but Tejano first and foremost. We accept almost everyone who enjoys freedom and great BBQ

I used to cross here monthly just to have something to do. Los Ebanos is such a small town that when I was a kid we didn't even have a play ground. We just played in the streets or rode the Ferry.

From the 1800's! Officially since 1950! Very interesting! I have been across the Rio Grande this way! I hope Texans can cross the border again freely the way we used to!

I first crossed that ferry in the 70s when i was a kid. Amazing, a bridge has never been built there.

I go to this town in Mexico every year. My Aunt and her family live there. They have 280 hectares of corn a few miles down the hiway from Diaz Ordaz. A lot of it butts right up to the Rio Grande. I have taken this ferry on many occasions and always enjoy it. I usually stay in Diaz Ordaz for about 10 days, flying into McAllen.

My great grandfather Noe worked US Border Patrol in the 1920s in that area. It was dicey back then. Haven't gone on the ferry in 20years.

One thing is missing here, the abandoned historical marker that is blocked off from the people to see. Do a follow up on that.

Very nice, I would like to turn around to the 1800s or 1900. Because by the time everything was very nice and kind and friendly...

I rode this ferry a couple of years ago and it was a real experience. I nearly didn't get back into the US because I'm from Missouri and we don't have Real ID yet. It was touch and go for a minute.

If I were just to stay on the Ferry, and not get off in Mexico, would I still need a passport?
@eriknervik90032 жыл бұрын
I would bring one. Because even if you don’t clear Mexican customs you’ve still technically left the US and it will make your life easier with American authorities. I have a lot of experience with the Canadian border and from time to time I’ve had to take the “return to USA” U turn lanes before reaching Canadian border authorities, but when that happens the lane takes you to the US customs lanes. This is the same basic thing as getting on the ferry then immediately returning
