No one ever seems to get that a Semi truck cant just start from a dead stop like a Honda civic. It would take at least 10 seconds... meanwhile theres a psycho with a Chainsaw cutting the door up. It's the same reason Reginald Denny got yanked out of his truck during the LA Riots and beaten on live tv.. and even then everyone said "why did the just drive off".

Ed Gein was mostly a grave robber. He did love his mother very much , but when she died he kept her corpse in a secret room in perfect order. He did do some killing . His mother hated sex and treated the father like crap. She wanted Ed to remain a virgin . If you read up on him you'll get the details. Alfred Hitchock got the idea for Psycho from Ed Gein. Also : Silence Of The Lambs was influenced by this. He turned crazy bc of his mother.

Geins crimes were a lot closer to this movie than "he didn'tdo anything like this" as you say. "A sheriff's deputy discovered Worden's decapitated body in a shed on Gein's property, hung upside down by her legs with a crossbar at her ankles and ropes at her wrists. The torso was "dressed out like a deer". She had been shot with a .22-caliber rifle, and the mutilations were made after her death. Searching the house, authorities found": Whole human bones and fragments A wastebasket made of human skin Human skin covering several chair seats Skulls on his bedposts Female skulls, some with the tops sawn off Bowls made from human skulls A corset made from a female torso skinned from shoulders to waist Leggings made from human leg skin Masks made from the skin of female heads Mary Hogan's face mask in a paper bag Mary Hogan's skull in a box Bernice Worden's entire head in a burlap sack Bernice Worden's heart "in a plastic bag in front of Gein's potbelly stove" Nine vulvae in a shoe box A young girl's dress and "the vulvas of two females judged to have been about fifteen years old" A belt made from female human nipples Four noses A pair of lips on a window shade drawstring A lampshade made from the skin of a human face Fingernails from female fingers He was also convicted of a second murder and suspected of 7 more. Plus kept his dead mothers corpse preserved in a secret room in his house.

What happened at the end? I think it's obvious. Since Leatherface cut his own leg, he's not running after the truck driver. So he'll dance around for a bit, then go home. He and the cook will come back later to scrape up his brother so as not to let the roadkill go to waste. Meanwhile when Sally is interviewed the police they won't be able to understand her incoherent screaming, except for that one cop who knows what's going on out there but he likes the bbq so he won't say anything. Lastly, the truck driver will sneak back to his truck and drive away, shaking his head at how out of hand hippies are these days.

Not even necessary stalled. Even back then I think when you’re in an accident you were expected to shut off the engine. And no matter what starting a semi, putting it in gear and then driving away takes time, not so appealing when you have to sit in the driver seat next to a rolled down window with a guy with a chainsaw just outside.

Because he turned off the semi (no exhaust and standard protocol for an accident). So you expect him to sit in the driver seat, start his truck, put it in gear, and drive away while a guy just outside his driver side door with the window rolled down is standing with a chainsaw? “But he wasn’t going for the window, he was just going for the door.” Yeah, and the driver wouldn’t know that. All he’d know is he could hear the roar of the chain saw through the rolled down driver window. I imagine he thought sooner or later that guy would step up and reach thru the window.

The film critic, Mark Kermode tells a hilarious story about taking his then girlfriend to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. After about twenty minutes, she stood up and announced she was keaving, realising he wasn't getting up, she asked if he was coming with her. "No, i want to see the film" said Mark. I love the ending cuz it leaves you to the imagination of what happened to everybody including the truck driver that still running down the street probably scared for his life and Leatherface swinging can chainsaw sound so awesome on 5.1 surround sound it's the best part of the movie at the end this movie is awesome When it comes to the semi truck it's like a cold battery when it hits a full stop it's harder to start back up and get going again if he wouldn't have stopped all the way he could have continued driving but he stopped at a dead stop so it's harder to start it back up and get it up and running it's not like a basic car or you can just turn it on and go semi trucks are harder to drive❤

Few pick up on this, but you cannot just zoom off in a large truck. To get up to, get away from the maniac with the chainsaw speed, the truck would have to go through many gear changes, and the driver only has the side window of the easy to climb up on truck, for protection from the seemingly determined maniac. That driver never makes running his first choice. He knew he wouldn’t be able to get away from Leatherface in his truck. Also, this movie needs to be compared to No Country For Old Men because: Texas, windmill, maniac, bolt gun used for cattle, descriptions of beef slaughter, set five or six years apart, Vietnam (a real meat grinder of a war), disturbing gas station scene, sudden deaths, caged chickens, character in wheelchair, ineffectual sheriff, cemetery... there are a lot of similarities and overlapping themes. Thanks for making videos eh.

Love the reaction. I think anybody would be screaming and yelling getting chased by a mad man with a chainsaw. But as the viewer, you can't help but tell her to shush. Just a side note. The actress who played Salley and the guy with the broom did take after take shooting the part with the broom hitting her when finally Salley, (marilyn burns) told the actor with the broom, (jim siedow) to start hitting her for real to just get it over with. So the scene where she is getting pummeled with the broom, she is actually getting pummeled for real. Watch the documentary of this movie called Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Shocking Truth. The real nightmare was in the making of this film. And you are correct, they were all brothers. Lots of people mistake the cook for being the dad but he is the eldest brother.

Them: it's not that scary. Also them: *talks over while watching the entire movie, turns on the colourful lights on the background when watching an HORROR MOVIE and literally gets terrified and jump scared the entire time of the reaction especially at **20:50* It's really that scary if you didn't talk much over during the movie. It's also insane how almost every reactors who watched the movie complaints about them running instead of just taking off in the truck not knowing that it'd actually take forever to start a truck and take off and not immediately like a car. Trucks are not cars where they can just start and take off immediately. Especially when it's an old semi truck that's shut down and has a trailer attached. By the time the truck starts and ready to take off, they'd already get killed by Leatherface. Leatherface would be fast enough to shove the chainsaw into the window even if they were in a sports cars. Edit: It's weird boot licking reactors but whatever makes this guy sleep at night.

An interesting fact, is that Gunnar Hansen's performance as Leatherface wasn't just about donning a mask and carrying on a chainsaw; No, but the director of the film Tobe Hooper gave the actor free rein to interpret his role as he wanted and gave Leatherface the personality he desired. Because of this, Hansen chose that Leatherface would be a mentally disabled and speechless man; This is why before filming his scenes the actor visited an asylum several times in order to learn the movements and behaviors of the admitted patients.

Fun fact: The window-burst at towards the end of the film was done by making the window of solidified sugar. When the actress who plays Sally jumped through, bits of the melted sugar were all over her body. She often said that, if they filmed it 45 minutes later, there wouldn't *be* a window. ALSO: the house was extremely hot during the filming of the infamous "dinner with the family" scene. It was at least a hundred degrees in that room, and it was only worse with the blackout curtains used. There were often people throwing up from the heat, and there were frequent water breaks between takes, for obvious reasons.

Now imagine having to wait a few seconds to release your air and then start to shift multiple gears before you're even at 10 mph. People act very bizarre to us in movies from this era (Franklin angrily blowing raspberries being a perfect example). You have to be a little learned on 60s and 70s culture to not be put off by it. That scene in particular was certainly meant to be a little weird, but it's much more strange now than it would have been to its original audience. It fit with something about the way people were back then in a way that it wouldn't now. All I can say is that as a millennial I'm in a position to observe both a younger generation and an older one and they're equally bizarre to me.

People question KZbinrs like that because too many KZbinrs try to act like they're experts on filmmaking or in college giving dissertations on the subject by describing the nuance of film, acting, makeup, camera angles, degrees of shots and others things whenever they watch a reaction for things that are taught in college or classes. I just wanted to know if they enjoyed it or not. Channels like this or the reel rejects like to give thesis on what they're watching and come across that they know more about film than the ones making it and haven't seen anything. It's not that hard to believe that some are lying when they say that they haven't seen something when they try to come across as experts in that subject

I'm 43 years of age and never liked this movie, it was a snooze fest for me, too much talking and screaming, I don't care what anyone has to say. The only thing few things I like was the fact it was filmed in the 70's, atmosphere, genre, setting, and the tone.

Fun Fact is on that scene when the chainsaw falls on Leatherfaces leg, that actually happened. No make up or effects, just an accident during shooting that stayed in the movie.

Very loosely based. I think it was based on a run of grave robberies

Nice reaction - the very title of this film has now become shorthand for a certain kind of movie experience - it's not actually a true story; it's loosely "inspired" by the case of Ed Gein, which also inspired the very different movie, Psycho - but the "true story" tagline adds to the raw tabloid quality - this movie could be a distant sequel to Deliverance, another very different movie - I don't think any of the sequels or remakes are worth watching, but you may want to do Hills Have Eyes, Descent, Deathline, Straw Dogs, Duel, Eaten Alive, Motel Hell, Breakdown, Joy Ride, Tucker and Dale vs Evil -
