The Textured Tarot by Lisa McLoughlin has arrived! So it's time to share my first impressions and do a full walkthrough!
Lisa McLoughlin is the creator of three oracle decks as well. My favourite is the Life Design Cards, and the Tree Wisdom Cards and Plant Ally Cards are also really lovely decks.
I preordered and bought this deck with my own money. All opinions are my own.

Katey Flowers really love this deck. after seeing this review again I feel like I need this deck. I find it a tiddy bit expensive plus shipping. Seems all comes elsewhere and from Canada they cost a fortune. Wish we could buy from a distributor closer by. Bit on my list TO BUY eventually. Great work. love the art, the colors. 😍

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but for me the 5 of swords represents how the fox was able to catch one of the birds through trickery (his wings), but it was a shallow victory since he's now falling over a cliff. Btw, I love this deck. Simply stunning! 😀

This is a very intelligently done deck. I watched Lisa's progress on IG and while I wanted to purchase it the shipping costs took it out of the running, something I imagine you all in Australia are quite used to. There are only a few cards that don't do it for me but most of them are brilliant. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to see all the cards.

More thoughts on the Five of Swords: unlike the scene in the RWS, this is not a fight. The fox is hunting for food. Putting that aside, he wishes he could fly, as he is pursuing the bird. In the process, he is about to harm himself, and the bird escapes. The fox, the aggressor, is the loser. In the RWS version it looks like the bully won.

You were wondering about the three faces on the High Priestess card. On The Mythic Tarot, the Moon card shows the Greek goddess Hecate with three faces, so you were on the right track. Also, the background of the Hierophant made me think of the masses looking to their leader. A reminder of how much power one can wield, among other things. And was that tree bark on the King of Pentacles' jacket? Thanks for the review of this interesting, beautiful deck!

5 of Swords...the fox is cunning and he's about to be defeated by jumping over the cliff with fake wings. There's more to that card though. I like it. It's a hollow victory.

Such a pretty deck!! I think that the 5 of swords is about taking what you want no matter the consequences. In this case the tricky fox can get the bird at the expense of tumbling over the edge.

Beautiful deck. It looks like the artist used a photo of Whang-Od for the Hermit card. She is the last traditional Filipino tattoo artist. Perfect. Aside from the art, that is what is really drawing me to get this deck. Thanks so much for the walkthrough!

I especially like the High Priestess card. The fern leafs coming from the right and left edges of the card each have six fingers reminiscent of the nephilim who's civilization proceeded our own. This High Priestess is connected to the wisdom of the ancients!

Thoughts on the Five of Swords: it looks to me like the birds tricked the fox, their enemy, into believing he is a bird. Now he's about to jump to his death without realizing it! The birds have outsmarted the trickster himself - the ultimate defeat!

On the hierophant, in the background, are pose "dolls" used in figure drawing...at least thats what its looks like to me. (Edit) ....after i watched the whole thing, there were alot of pose dolls.

Stunning and interesting. A lot to dissect in each card. This deck is great, but it’s a little pricey... $57 and shipping alone is $14 to the USA. This one may have to wait in my list, unfortunately.
