My band played a show with The Thermals in like 2003 at Cafe Mekka in Nevada City, Ca. It was a few years later that I heard this song when it came preloaded on my Zune. I was really happy to see that they had started to gain some heat. Glad to see it was picked up for Skate 3. I know they put in the time and effort, I love seeing it pay off for good bands.

I've been looking at adding branches to the tree of my music collection. I sometimes go to the Wiki page of a band I like (in this case The Decemberists) and look at the "influences" section to see who they liked, because maybe I'd like them too. I saw The Thermals. Looked them up on KZbin. Selected this song at random. Thought to myself, 'Hey, this isn't bad.' And then at 2:16 I'll be good god damned if that isn't Colin Meloy himself in the video. What a trip.

This song sounds like one of those songs that you accidentally find in some weird way when you were really young, and you love it so much that you listen to it over and over again because you have no other songs you like because your super young and don’t know what your music taste is yet, and then like 10 years later you remember the song or accidentally come across it again and you listen to it and you still love it just as much, it’s like one of those songs.
