Goblin RIDES

Күн бұрын

Welcome to our video discussing the very real issue of ignorance and bullying surrounding riders who are on 125cc motorcycles. It's unfortunate how 125cc riders are always judged by other riders, even though many have more experience on the road than actual licence holders. Even though this issue isn't something you should worry about, it may get you down every now and then. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Not to mention car drivers like to tailgate 125cc riders to intimidate them
@dan13jb

I have found taxis to be the worst on average for tailgating! They almost never overtake, but sit so close that they can't even see the number plate! I've even had a few honk at me when riding in busy towns and not filtering because they want to get closer to the red light!
@Antody
@Antody 11 күн бұрын
@@dan13jb I don't know what is it about the taxi drivers, are they being envious of you just having fun on 2 wheels and them being stuck at work and/or with a passenger? I completely have no idea why they have to tailgate and be such assholes for no reason, even if you ride to the road conditions and the speed limit.
@dan13jb

@@Antody If I filter, cars move over to block me. If I don't filter, taxis honk and wave for me to move forward between traffic. I'm sure many people would be a lot happier if they were out on a bike having fun, rather than inside a car getting angry at all the other cars taking up excess space for only having a single occupant...

100%, going down country roads with no cars near you is the most fun on a 125 I personally think. Riding through cities is where I’ve noticed (in my month of riding) car drivers pay much less attention. They just pull out infront of you at junctions or tailgate you forcing you to go faster to keep safe.

i work at a bike clothing store and everyone there is chill with my 50cc piaggio zip, i'd love to ride a proper bike but insurance is too high. i've never met anyone who geniunely takes the piss out of my for that, everyone at my work has ridden either a 50cc or a 125cc to start, idk if it's just me but whenever i see "beginner rides" videos that are in america, they are always like 400 or 600cc which is just find insane

I'm 1 month into my second year on my lovely Honda CB125F. I'll be keeping this bike. I love it. I'm potentially looking at just renewing my CBT because going for my full license is just expensive (I'm 29 so I can jump straight into the full license). My Honda is super fun. I love riding it. I stick to the slow lanes when on dual carriageways and just mind my own business. If someone wants to pass me on the single lane roadfs, so be it. I'm in no rush, I'm enjoying myself

Im on a Z Kawasaki 2024 125cc. Only done 80 miles on it so far.. so its literally new. Love it so far. Having that independence is fab. Hopeful to do my A2 licence within next year. Then will stick with the A2 hopefully. 125cc bikers get alot of hate. Me being one of them. But at the end of the day. Im a L driver. Id rather personally have the slower bike to build up experience and confidence for then hopefully a bigger bike. Ive no interest in speeding.. That's what causes accidents.. To all other CBT 125cc Riders. Love ya.. Keep at what you're doing. Take it easy. Ride safe. And drive extremely DEFENSIVE. 🏍💨🤙

I used to cycle to work but covid screwed me up so I had to get some form of transport. I'm 56 and never bothered with learning to drive but I've always fancied learning to ride, never had the bottle until now. I did my CBT on a scoot and bought a PCX but after a few months I fancied getting a geared bike, I bought a GSXS 125 and love it. The carriageways around here are all 50 mph except for one 60mph but I stick to the twistys mostly. The only thing I don't like about riding the bike is the L plates and the way car drivers treat you. I'm doing my A1 mod 2 in a couple of weeks so hopefully I can bin the L plates. My CBT renewal was coming up so I thought instead of paying £200 for the CBT (£150 2 years ago!) I'd have a go at the A1 licence and save over £100. I know what you mean about getting bored with the 125 though, they don't like hills at all. I'm thinking of going for the full A next year but I'll be keeping the GSXS for commuting on, getting 110 mpg on it.

It is nice just to lose the L plates. I'm sure they are like a red rag to a bull. Most car drivers don't even know if a bike is a 125cc otherwise. I passed my test and kept riding my 125cc for a wile.

Thanks for this video, it's very positive and I think that's a great 125 motorcycle! I am looking to start riding motorcycles at 50 years old, but don't like the idea of the extra abuse on the road, the silent and not-so-silent ridicule because of those damned L-plates despite having decades of road experience with a full driving license and riding bicycles. I appreciate safety is important, as is the environment and I see motorcycles as a potential way to genuinely reduce emissions and have a cleaner environment. Unfortunately, a 50cc is simply not practical as they cannot keep up with the pace of modern traffic especially with output rolling off from a paltry 20mph(!) and you can forget it if you actually need to carry anything. To my mind, it seems reasonable that someone who has already achieved a full UK driving licence and has a few years of driving experience should be able to go straight to a 125-class motorcycle, after successfully completing a CBT, without being required to have L-Plates on the motorcycle or scooter. There would also not be a requirement to repeat the CBT every couple of years. Considering how many cars have just the driver in them, if these people were on motorcycles then congestion, environmental emissions, and space required for parking would all be significantly reduced. Making it more reasonable to get on a 125 would certainly help get people onto a motorcycle or scooter. The relatively small size and weight of a 125 motorcycle or scooter makes then a lot safer in urban areas in the sense that the lower mass is less likely to cause serious injury to a pedestrian or a child, especially with the far superior visibility from a motorcycle or scooter compared to that of a modern SUV or insanely large pickups appearing these days with a frontal area so large that it completely hides a child from view.

Ive been a 125 rider for over 30 yrs and every time I take my CBT the instructors ask when am I going to take the full test as I know how to ride ? Money is one of the issues but also the roads are different to when I first started with the amount of traffic we have so why do I need anything quicker ? I ride a 125 LXS and I love it which all that matters .

Get old 2 strokes from the 80s, that's a great way to get into riding, they're far more powerful than 2stroke. Loads of fun. Everyone had 2 strokes as youths, it's all that was around really. 4 strokes were only popular later on, Japanese didn't even make many 4 strokes back in the day.

Wait is the 125cc motorcycles compulsory for any learner no matter age? Here in Sweden the 125 are A1-license bikes, or for people of the age 16 and 17. If you're above that you either ride on an A2 bike or A which isn't limited by the cc-size but rather horse powers.
