I have an unhealthy obsession with the Silent workhorse. Also, a small but crucial note: While starting a focus with banked time costs pp, _you do not have to actually have this pp to start the focus._

Silent workhorses are so much more important now that you need military advisors to finish your doctrine. I start every Germany game by buying both of them first

Well technically yes, but you'd lose all the banked PP every time you started a focus.

Arguably the most important resource in the early game, and one of the main reasons Germany is so strong; starting with a 25% bonus (and 2 silent workhorses!) ...don't underestimate the new Soviet tree, in which the USSR can, eventually, get a higher PP rate than Germany

And be careful with Germany, one of those workhorses likes to try make a deal if the war goes on long enough with the allies.

I actually would advise taking the backroom backstabber with UK, and UK only. UK is a country with a ridiculous amount of decisions and various ways to spend PP on. UK also has no way to get PP from focus tree. This leads to PP being a premium commodity for UK. Additionally, with UK not being a foremost industrial power like USA, Germany or USSR, it greatly benefits from having any edge it can get, be it compatible research bonuses for the stuff you are researching, be it appropriate designers for the type of bonus you want to have. Also, British backroom backstabber costs only 135 PP and gives back 0.1 per day, it will pay itself off in 3.7 years. So if you take silent workhorse, followed by backroom backstabber, BB will have paid himself off by the start 1940.

Note: UK's silent workhorse will be removed if you do not go "Home Defense", backroom backstabber might be your only advisor increasing PP per day if you choose "No More Appeasement" or "A change in course". In my Elite Fascist UK runs I grabbed my backroom backstabber as soon as i could. Yes, it takes about 4 years to pay off, but its still worth it if u r playing into 1945 or 1950.

@@ckfeliz true but If you're not playing democratic, PP is less critical because you cant do all those churchill speeches. Additionally, fascist UK runs tend to turn into imperial federation runs so you actually become the foremost industrial power.

However, the question remains, what the other advisors/decisions would have done in those years - their return on investment is likely much larger than the small extra PP!

Thanks for another great video (although PP is one of the easiest to understand features in the game!). Have you done one on trade laws yet? I'm curious to hear your recommendations for them

Yeah, I'm going to cover everything, haven't done trade laws yet. Free trade if you're playing MP because you'll get trade backs. In singleplayer do whatever level you need for the resources because your AI allies aren't going to give you enough civilian factories back. Basically if you're on free trade in the beginning leave it until you have to change.

Yes! I cover some of what resistance is in this video about suppression kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4vMaX2mpZl3h7s But a decided "How to eliminate resistance" is a good idea. Essentially the first you need to do is make sure your garrisons are filled and equipped, don't run on 0 manpower for a long time because resistance goes way up. If your resistance is high you need to increase the level Military Governor is a good option or Brutal Oppression if you're fascist. You want to switch back to a lower law once the resistance is lower to build compliance.

@@Pydgin I found you, but it was super hard even when I typed in pygdin. And noticed you don’t use any hashtags. Use maybe #hoi4 #ww2 #tanks #paradox or something like that. And maybe optimize it for vertical video and mobile. So using bigger text, showing only whats really necessary. And try putting Hearts of Iron or hoi4 in your bio so people find you easier when looking for hoi4 content. The most important thing is that TikTok can show your content to people interested in hoi4 and that people interested will find your account and vids on TikTok. Right now Without hashtags you vids will be shown to random people. They don’t care about hoi4 so they swipe up and your video gets downranked immediately.

Hey, could you do one for Command Points (CP)? I've always have this problem of having very low Max CP (usually about 80) and can't figure out how to increase the thing, it only just occurred to me of how important CP is after getting No Step Back and Waking The Tiger DLCs

How fast you actually draft manpower once you change the law, unless you run out, mobilization speed is irrelevant. It can take months to go from 5-10% changing to service by requirement
