Blanket's Creek is a unique riding spot only 45 minutes outside of Atlanta. I had been a couple times to make a video but never got one finished. Well, today is the day. Hope like it!
/ strava
Trails in the video:
Dwelling Loop
Rock 'n Roll
Highway to Hell
Rhythm 'n Blues
Quehl Holler
Gnarnia

Good call with not doing the big rock drop. If it doesn't feel right that day, it probably isn't. Too many people ignore this feeling and get themselves hurt. Nice video of Blankets man and I hope you're enjoying the new bike.

I think I made the right call. Maybe next time! That’s not a “by yourself” feature… at least not the first time. Loving the new bike, just need to figure out the creak. Thanks for the comment

You definitely hit many of my favorites and also enlightened me to look for Highway to Hell. I prefer R&B over R&R myself and it’s mostly because of that valley drop that ends into a step-up jump! That thing feels like I’m riding lightning on the way down! But all that speed is needed to get back up on the other side! A superb trail feature! Gnarnia is a beautiful technical trail with some challenging downhill/tech. options at the end for sure. The Holler jump line you took inspires me to try that gap jump to the left instead of the safe jump at the right. Also I’m glad to see that last jump before the wood berm is challenging for you as well. That thing got me good once and sent me OTB! Loved the video. Oh and that bolt you found could very well have been mine. I lost one very similar about a month ago around the area you found that one. 🤣 I couldn’t figure out where my bike was squeaking from until suddenly my tire would rub against the frame! 😂 I still don’t bolt check as often as I should but I’ll try to do better.

The valley drop to step up is definitely awesome. That gap jump on holler is great because the table just to the right of it is the same size… so if you can clear the table, you can clear the gap. Really good for getting comfortable with a gap. Also, just a quick torque check can go a long way (something I’ve also been putting off on my Spark). Thanks for the comment!

Another nice vid. For your creak, check your dropper post for grit. If you venture farther south in ATL mssg me. Southside Park is in the middle of a few upgrades, Dauset has some good trails, and there's the horse park in Conyers where the MTB races were held for the 96 Olympics.

1. “Bearhoti” route on Trailforks (Ellijay, GA) 2. Jarrod’s Place (bike park in Summerville) 3. Blanket’ Creek or Allatoona Creek Park if you’re looking to just ride around (Acworth) 4. Coldwater Mountain - Anniston, Alabama but is only an hour and 30 min from Atlanta Those first 2 are definitely the best though

Do you change your exposure compensation for different lighting on your gopro or is there a setting you stick with for that? thanks in advance, great videos
@_Aitch_
@_Aitch_ Жыл бұрын
I usually keep exposure compensation at (-0.5) and white balance at (5000-5500) depending on the day. I keep shutter on (Auto) because if the daylight changes drastically your footage won't be entirely ruined and I feel like (Auto) does a good enough job. I basically got all my info from this Skills With Phil video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f17Zp6l-lNOMd8k

@@_Aitch_ i took a trip to pisgah recently and found some advice i wish i didn't and was running -1.5 in daylight. Super grainy and even with neat video i can't seem to make it look good. Gonna try maybe -1.0 in bright and 0 in overcast next. Got the remote so i can set up to where i can toggle EV fast now so that'll help with testing. Keep up the great work buddy love the videos and thanks for getting back to me

@@Biketherapy113 No problem. It took a ton of trial and error for me to get it to look good most of the time... lots of playing around with settings to see what works. Watch that Skills With Phil video if you haven't already. I found it to be really helpful. Also, if you have the means, either buy or create a way to mount it to the chin of a full face helmet. I attribute a lot of the quality to the chin mount (and it makes you look like a shredder haha). If you have a light enough full face, it's worth it imo. I ride with the full face 100% of the time now, even when I'm not recording. Makes me feel more comfortable and I hardly notice it anymore.

The GoPro chest mount does a decent job and the digital stabilization gets better each year, but it can flap around a lot. Attaching it to your helmet some way keeps the footage super smooth

What tires are you all running in N. GA for trails? DHR2/DHF or similar?
@_Aitch_
@_Aitch_ Жыл бұрын
At the time, these were Specialized Butcher(F) and Specialized Eliminator(R). I've had Maxxis DHF/DHRII before and those were great, too. I now run Continental Kryptotal [Fr] and [Re]. All have been awesome. Big fan of the Continental tires right now because they are about $20 less each and work just as well, if not better

@@_Aitch_, thanks. I'm picking up a used Roscoe HT tomorrow after being off an MTB since 2011, so I'm lost when it comes to current trends. I'm very certain the tires on that thing are shot and I'll need new ones. I use to race DH and 4X back in the early to mid-2000s but now at 55 I just want to hit some flowy trails here in GA and have fun, I'm just worried about the right tire combo in this part of the country. I'll look into the Continentals. Appreciate the response.
