I heard a story behind the picture that is used for the album cover. Whilst filming the Ghost Monument, one of the crew thought it would be a good idea to photograph Jodie as the sun was setting, with the TARDIS in the back of shot. They took it with their phone, and the production department loved it so much, that they went with it. Sometimes things that are spur of the moment work out better than expected.

What I love about 13 theme, it feels soothing and warm yet so full of energy. Like 9/10 themes have surpassed its depression, and 11/12 themes have relaxed, 13s is the evolution of all those.

It is indeed beautiful, but there still isn't enough melody. It's just boring ambience. I like ambience, but Akinola is constantly teases a melody and when there actually is melody it suddenly stops and gets replaced by more ambience. I miss Murray Gold.

I feel the same. It took her some time to grow on me (and her TARDIS - the beautiful Ghost Monument - as well, I initially disliked the new design, the whole box inside the doorway mostly, as well as the crystalline collumns, but it also grew on me over time). Now, she really is the Doctor and I love her. That's a simple fact. People having problem with that need to realize, that it is canon, whether they like it or not. Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is canon. Living in denial is silly. But that's story for another time, isn't it?

She is seen wearing the goggles twice, and uses her expertise to make things, just like every other doctor (10 and his 3 different timey wimey detectors each with different primary functions, 10 being able to magically fix the spaceship in Utopia, 10 using a MALLET to fly the TARDIS, 1 originally built the TARDIS (for his entire run), the sonic screwdriver, 11 converting the machinary onboard the U.K starship to not fully kill the starwhale, 9 creating a wave capable of killing the Daleks in less than 15 minutes, The Doctor's invisible watch, the superphones made for 3 companions, the first doctor's signet ring, the 2dis from Flatline, i really could go on), it is a defining trait of all the Doctors, they make stuff, after all she is a doctor of everything (including engineering)

People say that they hate the 13rth doctor because "She does not act like the doctor." Even though the doctor always changes personalities, behaviours and how he talks. So it does not really matter if "Hey, they should act like this." When they should know what makes the Doctor "The Doctor", is that they change all the time and they act on each problem their own unique way.

@@jimi4985 Ah, I see. Lots of little ways. Probably the one that sticks in my mind most is how much more open she was about having had a family, to people she'd just met. Her previous four incarnations were very tight-lipped and cagey about that. The Tenth Doctor only barely divulged the information to Rose and Donna, his closest companions. Eleventh and Twelfth never directly told anyone, even Clara. Thirteenth, on the other hand, is open about them, where they've gone, and rather than brood over it, she offers a more optimistic, positive view of her past that focuses more on the good than the bad.

I really like this theme cause it actually feels as if it belongs in space. Don’t get me wrong, the Murray Gold’s scores were absolutely gorgeous, but they were big and orchestral but didn’t shout space all the time. But this mixes in orchestral greatness-something Murray Gold was very good at-with space. This music could totally play in Tomorrowland at the Disney Parks and it would totally fit. I can imagine hearing this at something g like Space Mountain and think, “this fits really well.” Jodie Whitaker has been a favorite of mine and the music for season 11 has only boosted that.

I don't really have an opinion, for me, it was mostly okay-ish, with weak parts and stronger parts. But I seem to notice, that the "it was soooo bad" is in the majority of people's opinions. That's why I wrote it like that: "might be bad or anything", which translated means: "each to their own".

Season 11 was amazing. Each episode stood on its own, more character development that made the overarching theme into a more substantial and natural backdrop, each episode was simple and to the point, but still with enough twists to not be boring. Some episodes were noticeably more intense than previous ones of the same nature (Resolution was particularly powerful, far more than any Moffat Dalek episode), writing was consistently good, we had the Doctor helping a child, so that theme kept alive. It might have been better to have some returning villain to give people a little hook, but being all original is just as valid (the original series used original villains all the time). Some noticeably creepier angles, like the Morax and those Kerblam Men (I don't care what anyone says, you see a grinning freak like that with glowing eyes approach you in a dark warehouse, you run the other way as fast as you can). Even almost had an old historical-only episode, two really (Rosa and Demons of the Punjab). Just a really great season, refreshing after years of convoluted bullshit and just really feeling like a good next step from the Twelfth Doctor's last words and final commitment.

I would not say Series 11 were bad. New writer, New composer, so they are experimenting. I really enjoyed new Tardis, new Doctor. But new companions... I didn't like Ryan because he was less interesting than Graham and Yas. I didn't like episodes about history because aliens didn't interrupt them so much. I mostly liked Arachnids in UK because it was pretty scary (and how the Doctor thought about this buisnessman), Kerblam because it was a usual Doctor Who episode, The Resolution because it was scary and a good reference to Robert HeinLein's "The puppet masters". Fair enough, non of the episodes were this bad, but the final was actually strange and the main theme of series was not so... horrifying like Clara's mystery, RIver Song or The Heavens of Missy, or Bill Pots. But i don't think Peter Capaldi's series were as bad as you think, they have their philosophy and you can except it or not, i just skipped boring to me episodes.

This kinda reflects how I feel about season 11/12: vacuous and uninteresting.

Why do you feel like that? The doctor is free of the time war. This is how she really is and you apparently liked it when she was being controlled and not being who she truly is and not being able to express herself. Quite a rude comment you wrote if I do say so myself. Ps this is my fave Doctor :D

@@canweget50subswithnovids12 Firstly, it's just an opinion. Secondly, my issue isn't with the Doctor, it's the show in general. It feels super generic and dull, as well as the companions being completely lacking of any personality whatsoever and the fact they are more like blank slates for the Doctor to spout exposition at. In the past, all the companions had a clear and prominent personality and narrative role, Donna was fiery/funny one, Rory was a lovable goof, Clara was the know it all etc. Graeham spouts some half arsed dad jokes, Yaz is just a generic plot device and I couldn't tell you anything about Ryan as he has no clear character traits whatsoever. Just in general, I feel like the show has lost it's fun, camp, style. Even the cinematography seems like it's trying to be super serious and sleek when to me, at it's core, it never took itself all that seriously.
