I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Richard after his performance in a play several years ago. He certainly ages well. Very handsome and down to earth. Even after meeting others after me, he remembered my name. He waved and said "bye Maddy". He certainly made my day. And yes, I am a senior citizen and remember Dr. K. The novel was the 2nd "grown-up" book I ever read as a teenager, (after Gone with the Wind) in the early 1980's, & I loved it. Read it again a few times afterwards, it was so interesting & insightful re life on a foreign continent. And love, life & death, faith, in general. I still have the yellowed crumbling paperback on a bookshelf.
