I have a pair of Lange Surefoot’s When I got them they were a game changer for me. Bought same Fischer boa that you see here. It’s even a better boot . 140 flex might be a little extreme for most skiers but for me they are perfect. The boa closure is awesome. I have never had an issue. Don’t knock it til you try it. I might be giving away my age here but the first boots I ever skied in were leather.I ski a lot ,over 80 days on the slopes in CB and Abasin,my feet never hurt.

Just skied a week in the Solomon Supras. Phenomenal boot. A little softer than the snappy X-Max 130s I just retired, as expected -- but much nicer to ski a full day in and vastly better for walking. Love the BOA. I got them heat molded on initial fit as I had a pretty bad pressure point at the top of my arch. The result was a perfect fit.

I have the Salomon BOA - love them! I have a wide foot and they fit perfectly. Don’t let a ski shop try to steer you into “HV” boots, as they tried to do with me.

Agreed the Salomon 120 and the Rc4 Boa look like really solid coaches boots. Went with a LV boot and spent years trying to get it to fit, the foot pain eventually had me quit skiing. These look really interesting.

Really curious to hear why you're not a big fan of the K2s. Also don't understand, as someone else already pointed out, why the Hawx and the Mindbender both got that much heavier this year.

Need extra plastic around the boa bits to help support the boa when compared to buckles, also makes the boot a little bit stiffer overall but not much

Nice. I tried those exact Salomons on a week ago and they felt awesome. I was skeptical about the BOA but felt pretty good to me.

Like your reviews. Was very interested in try the Fischer in the mid 120 flex but no shops seem to stock it. Found a few good shops that would order it for me but not going to order a boot I haven’t tried on. Looks like I’ll likely go either way the Salomon since I have been in Salomon’s for last 15 years.

The Fischer looks great with a Zipfit liner, but the Atomic is ~600g heavier than last year's which rules it out as a serious touring boot. And having a wide & easily displaced boa when you're skiing thru trees seems to be asking for trouble.

When you say "this is a great freeriding / ski touring" boot - do you mean they're meant to be only for freeride / ski tour? Like can I just get them for piste rides? And would it makes sense if I'm new to this and only learning how to ski? 2024 is my first season

I wish I could reply to this with a photo… they’re fine. But they’re not on this list for a few reasons. The simplest is, they’re too damn big and too damn fragile. Price is great, and they’re commercially viable but I won’t lie and tell you they should be on my list.
