My dad got some free tickets and we were in the audience when they recorded this show nearly 50 years ago. I was 14 at the time. Made a big impression, and I've never forgotten it.

A hundred wows, the artistry, the beauty,the glamour,the feminity, we will 'never see that again ' , not an afront to today's great young people under 45, the most educated generations, the 1970's was plagued still with criminal racism, sexism misogyny bigotry anti lbgtq and even more the 1960's the 1940's etc , but the women were generally much more feminine and the men masculine, what was considered that back then, there were no it,they them , today's young people are more unisex, again nothing wrong with that and in a way ,that's better , but it's another reason no matter how pretty or talented, today's young artist, just can't capture this kind of glamour and at the risk of sounding sexist, femininity and the same goes for the men Elvis, Barry White ,Frankie Valli

I think the looks and nuances of Beyonce’s character in Dreamgirls was patterned after Sheila more than Diana.
@johnlyndsay Жыл бұрын
Sheryl Lee Ralph originated the role of Deena Jones in Dreamgirls on Broadway. Beyoncé came way after the Broadway smash and did the movie. I do agree with you that the character is partly modeled after Sheila Ferguson… a combination of her and Diana Ross. Sheila Ferguson (Valerie and Fayette) is/are phenomenal talents and her real life story is very close to the character in Dreamgirls. RIP FAYETTE PINKNEY up there singing with the angels with that super sonic soprano voice.
wenn die Uhr sich doch zurückdrehen ließe, Liebe, Charme und Glamour hatten damals noch eine herzig glaubhafte und andere ehrlichere Bedeutung 😢

They are doctors, lawyers, police officers, dentists, entrepreneurs, and many other careers that they were locked out of during that time. Back then, they used their brilliant talent to feed their families. Now they have other choices. THEY NO LONGER HAVE TO BE ON DISPLAY FOR RACIST AZZ WHOLES LIKE YOU TO JERK OFF TO… YOU BIGOTED POS.
