I agree, I don't care what critics say. The movie was fun to watch, isn't that the main purpose of a movie? After having it watched probably like ten times it still doesn't really bore to see the action and humourous scenes. And when I hear "Renaissance" I directly assume a setting like how it got portrayed in this movie. In other words: if you want to see a so called "good" movie, go ahead and watch your Harry Potter, again 🤮. If you want to watch a movie for fun, this one won't disappoint.

I like this movie since it was the very first movie I saw Luke Evans and he become one of my favorites of Male Actors. At first I thought he was Orlando Bloom since they look so alike. Then I saw Orlando Bloom was playing the duke of Buckingham. Luke Evans looks very like Orlando Bloom's character: Will Turner from Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean in The Hobbit.

In the books, d'Artagnan was a guard of de Essart company since he can't join the musketeers till he completed a 2 year service or done a heroic deed. But he befriended the 3 musketeers (Athos, Porthos, Aramis) and shared many adventured with them. I suggest that you read the book. It's fantastic compare to this movie.

Nothing compared th the preceding versions. Watch for ex. the 1993 or 2001 version and you'll know what the three musketeers is really about (or simply read the book).
