I smiled the whole time i watched , it was like seeing my family baby pictures for the first time ! Never knowing anything about their lives when they were kids , they are my family , my tv family and now i know what their moms and dads looked like . im 61 and ive watched and loved them for 56 going on 57 years, makes me sound old , but im not , still feel like the little boy that giggled at curly , moe Larry and shemp ! Every time i see them . theres nothing like that warm safe feeling. They are timeless.

It is amazing to watch a struggling immigrant family provide such a great legacy to American history. It is also a joy to see the success and entertainment that the Stooges provided. It is an American success story involving talented and wonderful people. Thank you.

My dad introduced me to three stooges when I was about 3-4 years old, bought me the old tapes and the old stooges cartoon tapes. I'm 33 now and I still love them. I watch every week when they play on MeTV on Sundays. My dad looks like Moe, similar hair too, I always thought of Moe like my dad. Love them both

This right up my ally. I was born in 1956 but in my early teens a seattle TV station aired 2 hours of three stooges shorts. 6 20 minute shows every week day after kids got home from school. My closest friend who is no longer with us and me watched and cracked up everyday. What memories.

What sets this comedy apart from most of the rest is that it not only ages well but is actually funnier even after seeing it dozens of times. I can view a short that I've seen 50 times - know what's coming - and still laugh out loud at the gags and lines.

I became a *fan* of the Stooges at age 61 in 2018, when I bought The Three Stooges Ultimate Collection on DVD. Before that, I knew about them and had a few VHS and DVDs of them, but never seemed to get around to watching them, being distracted by the hundreds of other DVDs that I have. The Ultimate Collection changed all that. Watching them straight through, in chronological order, made me appreciate them, their timing, the sound effects, and their great, regular supporting cast. Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp have created a monster fan. I loved this video and very much look forward to your next episode. 👍👍 ps. I'm on my sixth rewatch of the Ultimate Collection. 😂🤣😂

My Dad was a huge, huge Three Stooges fan. He grew up on the Stooges' Columbia shorts, which were one of the first things aired on TV when he was a kid, and they were still on the air when I was a kid, long before the DVD age, let alone the on-demand age. I got to know them from films like "Disorder In The Court," "You Nazty Spy," "Punch Drunks," and many others. For years I knew them as filmmakers in the context of those carefully crafted movies. It was good stuff, and funny. Everything totally changed a few years ago when I had the chance to see some very rare footage of them doing their thing in front of a live audience. I wish I could remember where I saw it: it was vaudeville in the truest sense of the word, a tradition that was old even when they came into it in the early days of talkies. The stage was a lavishly decorated living room of an upper-class family, and Moe, Larry and Curly were the three house painters tasked with sprucing up the room. The expected hijinx ensued, with the end result that within about half an hour, the one-room set was completely demolished and destroyed, just in time for the owners to come home. I thought it would be just like the Columbia shorts, but to see it done all live in one take, in one room, and basically in one shot was nothing short of electrifying. There were no wires, no reshoots, no stops for injuries or for props that broke too soon or not soon enough. It was loosely scripted, with gags meticulously rehearsed but an incredible improv energy in a show that was impossible to plan perfectly because that's not how mayhem works. It was the most incredible display of vaudeville comedy I've ever seen, and ever since I've watched their famous films with the knowledge that they're really just an imitation, a high-production-value reenactment for our entertainment of what they could really do in front of a live crowd. Watching them destroy a complete stage (and each other) in front of a live audience gave me a whole new appreciation for what amazingly gifted performers the Stooges really were. It makes me wonder how much of their talent was really captured by the film cameras, and realize how great it must have been to be alive at the same time they were working, and to see them work their magic in the many, many live shows that we sadly have no recordings of.

All the great comedy teams back then were at home on the stage...the Stooges, A&C, the Marxes, Martin & Lewis. They had impeccable verbal and physical timing from honing their craft on stage all those years in vaudeville!

Let me say first off, THANK YOU! This was a absolutely wonderful opportunity to get to know the lives of people that were stars before I was born, but who I grew up watching and loving their work. The Three Stooges are TRUE ICONS! TRUE LEGENDS! And I have to say some of the most DEDICATED PEOPLE to ever 🎭perform🎭in Hollywood or anywhere for that matter. Getting to hear Moe's latter interviews, his history, his family, and all he had to overcome to accomplish what he became. Moses Howard is truly a incredibly wonderful, talented, extremely funny, and again unbelievably talented man. His love for his Mother shows me another great side of him. My Mom became terminally ill. Eventually I had to choose to place her in a home or care for her myself. I had promised her that I'd NEVER place her in a Nursing home. I kept that promise. I would not change that decision, ever. I would change how I became after she passed away. But that's another story. How Moe wanted to achieve his dream while not angering his mom shows he cared for his family more than anything. I have always LOVED the Three Stooges work, but now that I've learned about them, their lives, and families, I also have the most respect for them as well. As I said these men worked hard, EXTREMELY HARD. They didn't have CGI, special effects, face technology to place their faces onto other actors. These guys did so many dangerous stunts, so many crazy actions, and they were hurt many times, yet they kept going, working, fighting the pain. A Lifetime Achievement Award should be given to them all for their amazing works. I say this not knowing what awards they've been given. They were far far more than just comic who were known for eye-pokes, nose tweaks,👃😳 ear pops,👂😳 or head bonks! They were spot on with their dialogue and their gags. They were actors, comedians, stuntmen, and acrobats. They did more work, far more dangerous stunts, and incredibly exciting scenes, and THEY DID IT THEMSELVES! 👏👍👌👌👏 These men, ALL OF THEM DESERVE SO MANY MORE ACCOLADES, AWARDS, HONORS, AND HISTORICAL LANDMARKS. Their movies, shorts, all of their work will never ever be forgotten! The Three Stooges are FOREVER! And they deserve their place among the greatest in Hollywood history!

as a kid who grew up in chicago, wgn had the stooges on every week day. even now at 65, i still laugh my butt off when i get to see the uncut unedited 2 reelers... yes there were some cultural stereotypes, but that was those days. their mastery of timing and the cutting edge sound effects are still unmatched. i do post audio for tv/film, i know how hard those sound guys had it, using optical film sound strips... hey thanks for this series. i always knew some of this stuff, but this is from the families. really great. i love seeing old LA, where i live for many years. toluca lake in the forties must have been great.

I dont remember them ever being on PBS. The only thing I remember PBS showing that was any way controversial was Monty Python. PBS were sensitive more than others about complaints from the public because they rely on subscriptions and donations rather than money from ads. Stooges were almost always aired on local tv stations back in the day. Then since cable they have been on AMC. Here we had a local guy who used to do the Svenghoulie character for the monster movies host something called Stooge-a-palooza for many years.

All of their work was amazing. They BUSTED their butts back then. These men worked so hard to create their iconic trio. I have to say I grew to respect them so much. They are true icons, Legends, and well deserved place in the Hallowed Hollywood History books as THE comedic geniuses. I can't imagine how it was to have a "Stooge" for a dad, but many kids never had a dad. So while it may have been tough, you were blessed.

Of the 190 Three Stooges films, Elwood Ullman was credited with writing nearly 100 of them, it would be nice to see him get the credit he deserves . In the End the Stooges only acted , very well i might add , but they did not write the gags or stories etc.

Not entirely true as Moe's wife wrote the screenplay for Hoi Poloi.

Also the Stooges as a team wrote Punch Drunks, and certainly contributed ideas to others.

Stoogemania for life All 6 or 7 members that created a brotherhood was so amazing Emil stika may have not been a full stooge but he was always apart of them as like a unofficial member or a junior partner as u call it. Even the gentlemanics was stooges 2. The stooge clan lives forever 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Moe larry curly shemp joe besser & curly joe derita and even maybe emil stika. Also including mousie , dick and sammy wolf 🐺

That's a shame. Her appearances here are occasional, this is the definitive look at the Stooges from Moe's own son. It's part 1 of a 7.5 hour deep dive into each era and every facet of their act. Your lose really

In the clip from Pardon My Scotch, why didn't Curly and Larry just pick the door up instead of having Curly saw through it? But then again, this is the Three Stooges we're talking about.

You can't insert deals world logic into the crazy, cuckoo, often surreal world of the Three Stooges!

If they pick it up instead of sawing thru it, how can he fall thru the floor and end up downstairs?

So you determine its value based on pure hatred of someone. Clue for you: All the Howards were of the same political persuasion as Whoopi is now. Gee, now what could be the fundamental difference between them the Howards and Whoopi to you then? Yeah, thought so.
