蕭Sebastian been a fan of kpop for 7 years now. The only groups i like are snsd and exid but i listen and watch almost all kpop groups that debuted. And now im attracted to g idle. They really are something. They are new to kpop since they just debuted last 2018 but man. They are leading the kpop industry now and saving the kpop industry for me. I hope they inspire more idols and don’t dream just to sing and dance. What amazes me most is that they are so young. Specially soyeon. Maybe few years from now, she can even start her own company. All those producing, composing stuffs? Few idols only does that. It’s okay to hype g idle since they’re unique. Like they are one of the few.

Really it’s been four months (and still going) of non-stop Idle content. “Uh-Oh” dropped at the end of June with promotion through July. Japanese debut was end of July with promotion and two “Latata” vids stretching in to August. Queendom got going mid-August, running two months. Minnie’s collaboration with Wengie and now Soyeon doing True Damage is just around the corner. There literally has not been a week without Idle content since the beginning of summer.

@@acwano It is a comeback but it was done under Mnet's aegis during Queendom (and released on Mnet's "label") rather than by CUBE. I doubt there will be any live stages on the music shows like there would be for a normal CUBE comeback like "Uh-Oh". I suspect Mnet has an exclusivity clause in their contracts with the groups that would prevent them from going on other shows and performing their Queendom comeback - maybe for an Mnet awards show at the end of the year but that'd be it - for some unannounced period of time. As far as I know (I could be wrong - I haven't looked extensively) none of the other groups on Queendom have done an M/V or anything further with their final tracks, although I don't think Mamamoo have released a track list for their album comeback yet so "Destiny" might be on there. But in general I think these are Mnet's songs, and probably mostly exclusive to Mnet events/shows. CUBE clearly wasn't prohibited from doing an M/V for "Lion" - as the current meme goes, they weren't about to waste a good Soyeon track - but an M/V is probably ALL they are allowed to do for this song.

Idle has something genuinely special, each of them is bringing something to the table no one else could, and when they are OT6, there is no one like them EVER. I realized how lucky the Queendom show was to have them. Without them showing up for Latata from day 1 with a awards show worthy, nightmare inducing stage, and legit blowing everyone’s mind, no one else would have created the performances they did. We never would have gotten Destiny the way we did, or AOA FIGHT CLUB LIVE ON STAGE, and all of that is because Soyeon is a visionary that comes once in a very very long while. She’s more than the whole package people talk about, because yes she can rap like a monster and sing and dance like she could be the main in any group, but also she deeply understands her team, their strengths, and what they are capable of doing to the industry. And that was just her influence on five other groups. Imagine what they are going to do to rookie groups looking at them and wanting to be like them in the years to come... Long story short, holy shit, if you aren’t paying attention to idle, what are you doing.

I've been thinking along these lines too! If G-idle hadn't come out roaring (😉) in that first performance in Queendom, I don't think the other teams would've upped their game. The show would've been just another show with no true competition. Afterall, competition breeds innovation, change, and creativity. G-idle is these three things and so much more. They are truly a breath of fresh air in the music industry not just Kpop. I am beyond proud and excited for them. 🤧😍

Lion is a summary of (G)-IDLE's journey + a sum of what they have learned in Queendom. We all know how much they have improved since debut, especially Shuhua. Her vocal alone improved so much in Lion and I am proud that she's getting the attention she deserves. One thing I really like about (G)-IDLE is they always put a lot of good thoughts into their performances. Just like Ben said: your favorite groups would never do it like (G)-IDLE. They always push their limits further so that their performances could show you an entire picture of a story instead of being pretty and doing it like ordinary idol groups. Don't get me wrong every group has its own color, but what I see from these girls is they are thinking outside of the box. They are expressing deeper meanings so the audience is attracted not only by their visual performances but also by the stories behind it. I see so much potential since their debut, these girls never let me down.

Thank you for your reaction. It cheered me up after seeing a video criticizing Soyeon's way of leading (G)I-dle and the same old Soyeon and friends comment (things like not giving Soojin rap lines, giving too much singing lines for herself, her being bossy in Queendom and forcing her ideas on everyone etc). Sometimes I wished Soyeon did not involve herself in the group's music production because she gets hate every single time for getting the spotlight, unfair line distribution etc. No one complained about it when GD did it with Bigbang. But then I think about it again, (G)I-dle wouldn't be where they are today without Soyeon taking action and writing their debut song. I hope that Soyeon knows that we love her, and amidst the harsh criticism she gets just because she is a human and she has her own flaws, I hope that she continues to flourish as a musician and lead (G)I-dle to greater heights. From what I have heard the dancers both in the MV and their stages are from CUBE’s in-house dance team Star System or are under contract with CUBE. It was up to the respective agencies to provide backing dancers, costumes, studio recordings, etc.

Those are indeed the same dancers - members of CUBE's in-house dance team Star System or one of the two teams that are currently listed as being guest performers. When Mnet invited Idle, the contract was with CUBE as a whole; they were responsible for backing dancers, costuming, sound studio recording, etc. The same teams (not necessarily always the same exact dancers) did all the performances with Idle on Queendom and the live stages for "Uh-Oh".
