it doesn't have to, why would the levels change just because he died? i don't think there's a variable that changes the levels if you die in one, that wouldn't make sense for them to implement that

@@heliogonzalezsanchez8227 If nothing else, the level choice would have occurred at a different moment in time, which means that the data used to select it would almost certainly have been different, either because of actual different inputs or because numbers would have been consumed from the pseudorandom sequence by other players or computations.

It may seem like you'd have won if not for that thwomp, but that's only the case if SMM picks the next level out before you've beaten the last one. It might, but I highly doubt it. From a programming perspective it makes a lot more sense to just pick a level right before you start it. All of that is to say that the levels you played after dying would almost certainly not have been the levels you played if you hadn't died.

Very true. And in addition to the fact that they would've been different, even if they had been the same, it's worth noting that he would've been playing them very differently if the run was still intact. He had been playing the 3 or 4 levels leading up to the sniper thwomp level with *excessive* caution. (I'm sure I would have done the same, of course.) Very different once you have nothing to lose. For instance, maybe he would've yolo jumped at the later level with the down arrow instead of trusting the arrow. Maybe not. Point is, his play style would've been different.

Level 13 got you 3 times dead before beating it but I don't think you really tried those 2 times after you initially died to the Thwomp. Still Incredible. Still would like to see other guys try this challenge that make videos on it too. I took a break from gaming. Also I can't record doing it because I put my game capture device up and forgot how to record videos with games. I know the videos are better when there's a face capture screen added. I don't have enough security for that.
