He is there to teach by doing. Not the greatest bat. But does real well with ball handling. I noticed last year he went fishing for off plate balls. Not as much now You have to prevent more runs than you make with your bat 1st. They keep improving if the management keeps those that can and do both. Does not hurt you to do both. Oh & the schedule burns through players quickly. 154 games in 1950 vs 162 now. They keep improving if the management keeps those that can do both

Spencer Torkelson is 24 years old and already has a season in the bigs with 31 home runs. It took Jose Bautista 5 seasons to even have an OPS+ of 100 or 20 home runs. He has an MLB service time of 1.137, he's extremely young, and he's playing arguably the hardest sport on the planet, just give him time lol

The Tigers will be better when they get rid of a few bad apples... 1. Baez...Dude is just plain bad they should cut him, but there is no one in the minors who is any better... 2. Baddoo...Loved him when he was a rookie, but I'm tired of them giving him chances...He will never be that guy again 3. Rogers...He will forever be a .200-.220 hitter...He is a great defensive catcher, but he is a rally killer when he steps to the plate. 4. Maeda...He is just soooo bad...He is bringing down the whole rotation. And really this rebuild started after they got rid of Avila as the GM. Scott Harris in my opinion has been doing a heck of a good job with what he has done so far.

yeah this is correct. hopefully baez and maeda are gone soon. rogers might be a great trade deadline option. baddoo isnt gonna go away though, hes been a long time man through the detroit minor system and big leagues. hopefully baddo fixes most of his issues in triple a and come back to be a solid .250 avg hitter because we need his speed

Everytime Rodgers comes to the plate it’s a deep fly out or a strike out it’s like he chooses to go for a home run every swing and can’t just work on making contact it pisses me off, that said he did connect today and hit a grand slam and his defense and frame pitching is up there with some of the best. I’d still opt for a different catcher I still can’t stand watching him at the plate same with baez

Problem with waiting for those first round players to develop is that we won’t have any pitching when they do develop. We need to spend more money in FA and bring in people who can actually play. Quite obvious our front office is still incompetent.

The Tigers are nothing like the O’s. Al Avila got nothing for trading away JV, JD and all our other good players. He signed Baez for 6 years who is literally the worst player in baseball. They got nothing for E-Rod at the deadline last year. Tork and Mize weren’t worth the picks. Maeda Urshela and Cana were a waste of money. Green, Skubal and Olson are foundations, maybe Keith. Everyone else is either trade bait or tbd. I’m a lifelong Tigers fan and don’t change my team year to year. Tigers fans are tired of waiting.

Madea, Urshela and Canha were signed by Scott Harris's team..... Sounds like a couple teams are interested in Canha at least, and I think Madea is still "recovering" from surgery, so maybe next season he returns closer to form(fingers crossed).

Best we got is promising bats for next year in the system but that isn’t much and one guy can’t change the offense. Max Clark has been good but needs to work on strength so he can actually launch these balls he is at best 3-4 years away without a miraculous jump which is fine since he is 19. We aren’t a good team we have pitchers but no offense we need to be able to get people who can hit the ball. Tori needs to rework his bat. He can’t hit a fastball nor does he really utilize his hips when he swings it is just clunky. Probably why he can’t hit a fast ball as it lowers his bat swing speed. If he can get his act together and change his swing then we can consider an asset but rn he ain’t anything.

1:43 They didn't select Spencer Torkelson, that's for sure. They drafted a guy that 'can' hit 93 MPH fastballs. What are the Tigers going to do with their 1-OA stud, Tork? You might get a jock strap in return in a trade at this point. Maybe package him and Mize? Two 1st OA together might bring back 3 jockstraps!!! Tigers are 0-2 picking 1st, Baltimore got one of the top catchers in the game. The Tigers are light years away from that team, probably closer to another rebuild in all actuality.

Respectfully, I disagree. Torkelson is looking to be a bust. Mize has not been worth the first overall pick. The offense besides Greene is not consistent at all. The owner, Chris Illitch, refuses to spend money and I do not see the vision that Harris has for this team. Could've signed at least one or two of the veterans bats in free agency in 2023 free agency (Chapman, Martinez, etc.). As a Tigers fan, this team has been insufferable to watch the past 10 years.

This trash is so out of touch with reality. Mize is not good, Tork is back down to AAA and can't hit a HR. They don't have any hitting talent anywhere in the farm system, and Illitch refuses to spend any money... Oh that's right, because he said in 2022 "the rebuild is over"
