The Time Jumpers - Special Guest Wendy Moten singing Ode To Billie Joe

The Time Jumpers were nominated for two Grammy's in 2008 and another two nominations in 2012 with two more Grammy Nomination in 2016 winning Grammy for Kid Sister. Time Jumpers had the honor of being the first National Fiddler Hall Of Fame Special Recognition Award recipient; also for what they did to promote the art of fiddling around the world in 2012.
Time Jumper Fiddlers were inducted into the Fiddlers Hall of Fame. Each year, thousands of visitors from across the globe travel to Nashville just to see some of the worlds best fiddle players perform live together with some of the worlds best musicians. Their album, The Time Jumpers, received worldwide recognition as well when the London Times listed it as one of their Top Ten Records of The Year for 2012.

So glad she is perusing her Singing career as a solo artist ,,, This woman has an amazing voice I remember her first song from the early 90's "Come In Out of The Rain" and a Stevie Wonder song "All I Do and so so so many other songs. Wendy Moten is extremely a talented Artist and song writer. Oh and you must see some of the Artist she performed Duets with.. WOW!!!!! What a boring singer. Nothing at all unusual. I almost went to sleep. Nice Voice, but something is missing in her delivery. No feeling. Not even when she covers Aretha Franklin songs. And No, I am not jealous. She's has the voice, however, she seems to be missing the emotional skills to connect and convey feeling from herself to her audience. It is not enough to just stand up and sing! A robot can do that! Perhaps she thinks having a voice is enough. That is so far from the truth! Heart to heart singing is a gifted skill. Possessing the voice is only the very beginning! She has been around a very long time, but, apparently never got the memo on that one skill amoung so many other skills that can spark the difference between being ordinary and being a stand out super star! You gotta connect with the audience!

You are entitled to your opinion. However, I disagree, the song is not suppose to jump out at you vocally, not even when Bobbie Gentry sings it. The song's appeal is the story and the arrangement with the violins. I have listen to Wendy many times, I am not sure where she lacks the ability to connect emotionally with the audience. She would have never made it to second place in The Voice. I think her voice is soulful.

Geez everyone is a critic. Did you not hear the audience clapping. She is a phenomenal live singer, she does not need to do walk up and down the stage, she puts the vocals first. Only 2 years younger than Whitney, but she can still blow the roof of. Her lack of superstardom is due to her being unsure if signing was her forte . But I respect your opinion. I feel that way about Adele. Terribly lazy performer...with ok songs...and a distinctive voice.

Then there are singers who can't sing. Singing talent comes first in my book. And if you can do that well, it connects for me. I feel all of it. If you cant sing, you can through all that animation and show but the skill is not there to make me feel a thing. Wendy has got everything to make me feel everything!

These live performances recorded on a cell phone don't do a performance justice. Really you have to be there to truly appreciate any live performance. Vince Gill seems to think she is a great singer. You probably think Vince is boring as well. What do you do Shirly? I bet you can't sing a note.
