Wow, I’m glad somebody figured it out. That would’ve been horrible if the wall would’ve collapsed and a roof on top of it.😮 Thank you for sharing.❤

Bonjour. Merci pour l’idée. Nous avons l’intention de remplacer le toit à un moment donné, donc peut être refaire le mur à ce moment là?

This is NOT a renovation but a very sad transformation ! What a pity to see our beautiful country being invaded, sold piece by piece to strangers and our heritage being destroyed by incompetent. I've looked nearly all your videos, and can't stand to look at this rampage anymore. Good luck.

Lost for words and so many questions… Not entirely sure of your definition of stranger/invaded? It sounds racist, but hopefully I’ve misunderstood. If you have in fact watched the vlogs you’d know that I (Nick) am French and my mother and grandparents originate from Cozes in the Charente Maritime, just two hours from where the chateau is situated. It seems you are not impressed with how we are approaching the renovation - invariably it’s a personal thing, but I can assure you we are approaching it with due care as to its history, while attempting to modernise it for future living. It is easy to criticise, but what would be more helpful is if you have suggestions on how me might approach the renovation differently, more in line with France's heritage? Personally, I feel that we are being considerate of its heritage. Thankfully the villagers, including the mayor, as well as the previous owners who have visited on serval occasions have been blown away with the work we have done so far. The alternative would have been for the building to sit and decay further until it was a pile of rubble. That is unfortunately what was happening to this chateau until we became its custodians three years ago, as the previous owners didn’t have the funds to do anything. I’ve lost count of the number of decaying buildings strewn across the French countryside falling to ruin, because very few French people take on such projects. The chateau was on the market for 4-5 years until we bought it, decaying more and more with each year that passed. Thankfully I know plenty of French people who are very grateful for 'strangers' taking on the huge and often thankless burden of bringing these abandoned buildings back to life, and I am in awe of anyone who is brave enough to take on such a project. I have no idea of the context behind your comments, but I find them quite offensive and while everyone is entitled to their opinion, it’s possible to share a point of view without being rude, unkind or indeed racist.
