Portland was never going to draft Jordan anyway because they needed a center and Drexler played the same position as Jordan and was considered to be better than Jordan at the time anyway 4. The TrailBlazers GM called Jordan Olympic Team Coach and asked him about the decision between Michael and a Center, the coach told him 10000% draft Jordan, then the GM said we need a center to which he replied "then draft michael and play him at center". He was the raining college player of the year, won the NCAA championship and was captain of the olympic team. People Knew he was good, the coaches knew he was better than clyde drexler (i don't know how the fck did you believe people thought Clyde was better). Jordan was popular before joining the league, people were saying he would be the best player before setting foot in the league and his olympic team coach said on record "to me he is the greatest player i have ever seen" something like that. Please next time do some fcking research before starting to act like a smart ass.

Watch the Top Five Reasons and see what people who were around thought of Jordan in 1984. Rod Horn didn't even want Jordan when he picked him and was considering trading down to get a center.

Another SHOCKING UNTOLD secret: Sam Bowie's last name is pronounced as "Boo-ee," now "Bow-ee." ... He was overrated throughout his time at Kentucky, though he is a very fine person, and fine player. But media in the '70s were looking for "another Wilt" or "another Kareem" to tout. So 7-1 Sam Bowie and 7-4 Ralph Sampson were overpromoted by network TV anxious to see college basketball ratings spike. It just was not the big center era any more. The Trailblazers should have seen that. Had Sam been drafted farther down, his career would be seen as more successful, but against the "before Jordan" standard, he was doomed to be seen as a flop.
