This is just like this one plotline in _Friends_ where Ross (30) dates one of his college students (21). And his whole argument for doing so is that it's only "frowned upon". Later, he finds out it's actually against the rules but he only dumps her once he realizes he doesn't have much in common with a girl in her early 20s.
