Okay wait.. Your dad is the reason youre NOT an alcoholic...? Yet he wasnt there for you, nor had any meaningful conversations with you? Was your dad an alcoholic and THATS why hes the reason youre not an alcoholic?? Regardless, im happy you turned out well and arent an alcoholic, regardless to him not being a good father to you.. 💕 both of my parents were alcoholics, and then turned into drug addicts and both overdosed last year.. And i somehow was able to get clean a year before they passed....So ive seen and experienced what addiction does to people, and their children/ families.. Sorry for the rant idk why i told you any of that.. Im just Glad youre not an alcoholic...
@roflstomps324
@roflstomps324 3 жыл бұрын
@@rae7864 well. He could have been there. I looked at him when I was ten slurring and starting stupid fights and said there's better for me out there. I moved in with my grandfather who actually talked and interacted with me in meaningful ways. When my father realized I wasn't around (I was moved out for five years) he came round and started shit. I put him through a wall. And, yes. I am not an alcoholic because I looked at my dad and judged him lesser. I didn't want any part of what he had going on. Do I still drink? Yes. But my mindset is different from his. He drank alone and then came out to argue. I drink with friends to make fun and tell jokes and have fun. There's a massive difference...

When i heard you talking about the car in the butt sketch, that was the realist thing i've ever heard from you at that point. The idea of disappointing your parents being worse than pissing them off. So much truth in that statement. I'm sure your father is both proud and grateful at the same time. Grateful that the drugs and alcohol didn't take permanent hold of his son. Awww i love SteveO's Dad...what a sweetheart. Their relationship looks like its super strong and i love to see that. I miss my Dad so so much...he passed in feb 2010..and i hate that im never gonna see him again...never gonna be able to have him walk me down the aisle or be there for the possible birth of my first/any child. I was only 20 when he passed away...and ive talked to so many people and old friends in the past and heard them talk about how they just dont talk to their Dad's anymore for some stupid argument or for something really trivial.....or just hold a grudge for anything small at all...and i just hate to see that...cuz they could be gone tomorrow...and i wish i could have my Dad still be here with me, i still cry myself to sleep often and its been 10 years... So it hurts to see people just CHOOSE to cut their very much still alive father out of their lives... I dont get a choice to even see my Dad anymore never mind choose to just not talk to him anymore....not that i ever would have because he was my hero and i loved him so so much. He was my one and only. Ive never loved any man as much as i love/d him. I do understand why some people have cut their Dads/Mothers out of their lives... For the reasons of horrific behavior and just them being a bad parent altogether. Some Dads/Mothers dont deserve a second chance but many do imo. Parents will always make mistakes but as long as it wasnt something purposely evil and harmful then i think people should always try to make amends with their parents...because its the only parents they have. RIP Dad i will always love you and look forward to seeing you in my dreams again tonight. Please, if you're reading this and have lost touch with your parent(s), please give them a chance in opening the line of communication again. You wont regret it. If you don't do it, you WILL regret it when its too late. 😞
