The Toltec Mounds Scott Arkansas Ancient Native American Site

I like the theory of celestial alignment. I know of smaller mounds in Arkansas not identified as such and both are near creeks in Vilonia and Fort Chaffee that both look so out of place for the terrain. I visited Spiro mounds in Oklahoma as well as Toltec mounds there and find the topic facinating.

From hwy 107 turn onto Otto Road. Several miles down Otto there is an s curve. Past that curve look into the field off to the right. There are several small mounds observable. The ones in Fort Smith area are several times larger than the ones off Otto road.

Have you considered that the purpose of the mounds may be more primitive than the speculations? Perhaps at the time of the building of this society they were adjoined to the river. The ox bow formed later. I think that the mounds may have been constructed as a defense for the people. That at that time there were fewer trees in the immediate area. By building the mounds it gave them greater observation of any approaching enemies. The mounds would have been the final defensive positions and that they were being constructed to support oneanther in case of attacks. This was maybe a society in the process of growing but something brought about it's demise. Whether that would have been enemies or disease who knows. If my theory is correct there should be arrowheads and spearheads closer at the base of these structures that would indicate they had been used as defensive positions. I think that cultures could be very brutal during those times and that preservation would be the top priority.

I was at that site in 2017. It is fantastic. Difficult to explain how they could have built it with small baskets of dirt. I do not buy the conventional explanation.

Yes I have considered that but also recently we have visited other sites that have mounds that accurately illustrate astronomical alignments. So I believe that there are other alignments at Toltec that are not yet discovered. I think there are some accurate alignments there but I think they connect more to the stars rather than to the son or moon.

I agree, this stuff is found all over the world. The "Indians" didn't do this. We have Native Americans on our archelogy team and they say that their oral history tells that there was another race here before they were...Some tribes fought wars against these other people or whatever they were.

What was the motivation to build pyramids around the world in the ancient times? Why is there no motivation to do the same today? What will be left from our culture after thousands of years? Mixture of rock, metal and glass sand? Holes in the bedrock (mines and building foundations)? Anything interesting and useful for the future inhabitants? Or, just pollution, extremely dangerous nuclear waste and death?! 😱
