My dad recently passed away, and something he always wanted to do with me is play dnd. I paint a lot and he always wanted me to make his minis (and when i did he cherished them even though they weren’t the best). The way you talk reminds me of him, and makes me want to pursue this hobby as an outlet for my grief. Sorry for trauma dumping on you but hey, you are doing great stuff here my guy, much love

My dad isnt doing the best with his health. As a kid, he had always wanted me to get into building and painting models but I had no interest. As an adult, I became interested in warhammer 40k and started building and painting models. My dad thought it looked so cool and he was excited to do this with me. Unfortunately, his medical issues ended up affecting his dexterity significantly, so he had to stop shortly after we finally started. He was devastated (and secretly, so was I) but I tried to stay positive and get bigger models that may be easier for him to build. It was to no avail. I almost quit but he wanted me to continue. Now he will sit with me while I paint and we get to hang out. It's bittersweet because this hobby has brought me closer to my dad than ever but it reminds both of us of the reality of his situation. We try to keep it together but ...sometimes that's really hard. Even so, it's been great (it's actually the greatest) hanging out with him. Sorry for the long comment but your story just hit me in a way. I hope you are doing well

Hey man sorry to hear of your loss. It’s nice that ye dad wanted to spend some quality time with you and share in his interests and that’s the most important thing, I personally still don’t get a lot of quality time with my dad and he didn’t have much interest when I was a kid (army man so very difficult) not going to go on, my point is that cherish the fact that your dad wanted to do stuff with you. As for pursuing the same interest, go for it man......and if you have kids get them involved. Don’t see it as an outlet of grief, see it as a celebration of what your dad loved, how he shared it with you and how you can share stories of your dad with ye kids (if you have them) anyway, hope you deal with it in your own way the best you can but a hobby is good for your mental health no matter what. Stay strong and ask for help if you need it......remember, like the mighty oak, if you don’t bend with the breeze you’ll break 👊🏻

You cannot live for your parents. My son did not take up my gaming hobbies. And that is ok. We have other things we do together. The fact you took it up and ran with it is awesome. Cherish all your memories of your father. If you love the hobby continue with it. If not put it up and Cherish what it brought you while pursuing your interest.

I have just gotten into this hobbie although I am a life long D&D fan and played as a kid. Your videos have inspired me to build tiles and paint minis. I'm having a blast and as a 14 yr combat veteran I have found that this is a great way for me to relax and fight off depression and PTSD. thank you for sharing your awesome talent with all of us gamers. Also because of you I think I will join the crafters guild.

Hi Bill! Linking all of these Tomb of Horrors videos together into a single, long production was a superb idea. From the awesome music and your narration style, this is even fun to just listen to as others have identified. It has that calming effect that good game crafting can have at times. Watching it however, is even better and I always pick up ideas from you. In spite of your outstanding talent and creativity, I am nonetheless still awed by you completely building this very famous/infamous dungeon completely. Between you and DMScotty, you both got me started on game crafting in the first place and I'll forever be thankful for that. So many of your build ideas have made it into my DM 'stuff' over the last few years. Thanks so much for making this one!
