Oh man, you're about to go down the rabbit hole and I'm here for it! What to expect: - Good music, composed and performed by very talented people. - Some bizarre time signatures. - Lots of complex poly-rhythms. - Trippy videos (when available). - A great deal of fun. "Schism" from Lateralus is a good example of all of them.

When this came out we were all amazed at the mix of fury and seeming confusion in Maynard's voice. His ability to express genuine emotion untempered by the usual self-awareness was unparalleled. Still is. The first three songs, "Intolerance", "Prison Sex" and "Sober" were just eyebrow searing. They came out on fire and have never let up!

I bought this cassette the day it came out simply based on the cover art. I had no idea who they were, what they sounded like or how they would forever alter my life. Intolerance was my first song as I played it on a highway and my instant connection with the rage embedded in their music actually made me tear up on this very first listen of the very first song.

I love that you are doing this chronologically. The growth and journey of this band is fantastic. One thing to keep in mind, it was 13 years we waited for Fear Inoculum to finally be released. There was a LOT of anxiety about what 13 years without ANY new music would sound like. So when you approach Fear Inoculum, remember the anticipation we, the loyal Tool fans felt. They released the title track first and I personally think (even though you've done Pnuema drum cam), you need to put yourself into that headspace if you can of the anticipation and review the title track first. I, myself still regard it as the best track on the album. Perhaps because of the elation I felt when it was finally released and it was EPIC! Cheers mate. Welcome aboard.

I've subbed many YT'ers who were reacting to the entire tool discography. You give pretty good reactions tbh, sharing thoughts but not so many that you have to pause every 30 seconds. I'll watch every single tool reaction you put out. Prob more than once. Even if you don't react to every song do your soul a favor and listen to every song. Btw, whomever told you to start at their beginning was right on. Their evolution is part of the tool fans journey to enlightenment. Oh yeah, Danny Carey big brains thr fuck outa percussion instruments. I don't cater which song you listen to, he's a monster.

His vocals are mixed in like another instrument, replete with dynamics, rhythm, and changes in tone. It can be a little irritating sometimes, because you want to be hit by the lyrics, but the approach is compelling after some familiarity with their sound. Plus, because the lyrics are important, it makes you dive in to get them. Love these guys!

I've always seen "hiding" lyrics under the music as a way to force the listener to actually hear what a lyricist is trying to get through to the listener. Making it harder to listen to makes it easier to hear, if that makes sense.

women's ability to be more tolerant, cooperative, and accepting, and empathetic derives from their high levels of oxytocin which is created through estrogen.
