God, I'm way to addicted to mechanical keyboards. I'm telling you, once you decide to take a closer look at keycaps and switches there is no coming back. I started out with a relatively cheap ten-keyless Akko. That was fine for a while but it kind of escalated and now I use a metal keyboard with a gasket mount. I have changed the switches multiple times, I have various keycap sets and I've taken it apart way too many times in order to lube all the switches, stabiliser, and to do a bunch of other modifications. I keep chasing that high of experiencing the perfect sound and feel knowing full well that I will never be satisfied. Jokes aside though, mechanical keyboards are a fun hobby and having a good keyboard can make writing so much more enjoyable. I just enjoy sitting down in front of my keyboard and getting some work done. It's like buying an expensive pen, you just want to use it.

hahah I dont have the extra cash to fuel the hobby rn, but I got into it a bit earlier this year and got a second hand keychron and some nice clicky switches off the mechanical keyboard trade subreddit. I definitely enjoy typing more now :)

The next level is remapping the keys to the Colemak layout! I've been collecting fountain pens, paper and ink for 30 years. You have excellent taste and discernment.

I feel connected now. I mostly use Razer hardware as well for mouse and keyboard, and I LOVE fountain pens. Unfortunately, I tend to write most things on my keyboard these days but still have a collection of fountain pens, both old and new. One of my favorites fountain pens is the Diplomat Aero, it has an amazing grip and flows really well.

Yeah, I like writing on my mechanical keyboard, but sometimes I wish I used more paper products so I can use my fountain pens!

Ooooh, the Lamy CP1 is beautiful! I love those slim fountain pens. I can recommend the Vector from Parker.😊

this is a very cool video!! for my writing I mostly use my laptop keyboard but I would love an external one one day. I don't really write on paper often but I wanna start writing on paper more soon.

Ha! Lamy was one of THE recommended fountain pens back in my primary school years when we learned cursive writing.

That's so funny. I much prefer my Lamy cp1 to the safari. But if I had a physical zettelkasten and wanted to use them, I'd need to get different ink because the ink I'm using runs at any sign of water!

I love fountain pens! I have five of them :) Three I use the most are Lamy Safari, Kaweco (which is very small and handy), and Preppy Platinum, for its very fine nib. As for the keyboard, I just use my laptop, but I'm thinking about buying an ergonomic keyboard. I totally agree with you that using writing tools which make you happy makes writing process more pleasant 😊

I finally got around to watching your videos on note taking in preparation for my own research writing, and was surprised to see this new video with a thumbnail of my favorite keyboard! (I love the sand color version) Then when I clicked on the video I saw the fountain pen ink bottles, and gosh I love how pink this video is. I recently got a Kaweco Perkeo and a bottle of Iroshizuku Yama-guri, but I'm really hoping to get a Pilot Custom 74 one day in my dreams. Thanks for all your videos on note taking. Would love to see you compare even more knowledge management systems, and get your thoughts on them.

"I love how pink this video is" is my new favourite comment! 😂 I strive to be more pink. I would love to compare knowledge management systems! Learning new ones is a bit of a hassle right now on top of my actual PhD work, but I could even do a comparison video of the ones I currently know and use: notion, obsidian, zotero, scrintal... paper and pen :P

I use the Logitech keyboard you mentioned. I'm using it RIGHT NOW actually!! It's really comfortable. The reason I bought it tho is totally different. If I wanna travel light I only take my laptop with me, but at home, I have a stand for it to have it at my eye level. I couldn't possibly use its keyboard at such an angle, hence Logitech K380. Thank you so much for the video. I've never used a fountain pen and you just made me so curious! I'll give it a try soon.

Ah, smart! Yeah, I use a desktop at home, so I just have the permanent wired keyboard for that. But yeah, the logitech is surprisingly comfortable, even though it's small!

The only fountain pens I have used have been disposable v-pens. I love the coloured inks and never realised you could get coloured inks like yours for refillable fountain pens! Still think fountain pens are a bit messy for me, I get inky finger prints everywhere. I do like mechanical pencils though. In terms of fancy pens you might like, have you used a Mont Blanc pen before? They have a good heft to them and write beautifully (very expensive though)

Old style fountain pen - Parker 52, Mum's 21st present, a very narrow nib on a slightly over sized barrel, but I moved to a LAMY pur Silver Fountain Pen, which seems not to be made any more but as you show it has a black cousin as the LAMY cp1. And black ink... a great 'narrow' barrel. Loved the silver brushed finish... lost somewhere, so partially replaced by, as they are virtually the same shape and size... The now day to day are 0.3 and 0.5 Uni Pin fine line fibre tips... water and fade proof ink and are just great for writing AND sketching (outlines at least)...

The Cp1 list price is US$75, but back when I initially bought my 'silver' it was more pricey, back in the 80s.

My hands and fingers are going through some metamorphosis due to an autoimmune response - I don't know if it's temporary or not. I currently am using the long version of the Apple magic keyboard. Mainly because the smaller key boards get moved too easily by me and it's hard to get it and my hands in just the right spot so my fingers generally hit most of the right keys. I was a touch typist but now I find I have to look at the keyboard and where my fingers are going to land. It's slower but more accurate. I'm really wondering if a mechanical keyboard (with more space between the keys) would be more useful. I have a few older keyboards that were top of the line Logitech at the time I was using them. I think I'll give these a try and see if that helps. Thank you for your video and a look at your tools. The Razor lite looks amazing. Shame it's not available.

I had forgotten that I picked up that wireless keyboard years ago and pulled it out thanks to this video. I've never used it with my iPad because the iPad keyboard is fantastic but using it with an iPhone is really useful as, otherwise, I dislike typing on it.

I like a flat low profile keyboard myself, I find the reduced keys means I don't have to lift my fingers up as far :D
