Sal, I just bought one of these from Lowe's and absolutely love it. Doing my first 24x48 floor solo. This thing keeps me from busting out my sub par yoga moves.

Fantastic, two of them are better for big tiles like that. Along with the Grabo I have a cheap suction cup that works really well, not as good as the grabo but great for tile amzn.to/3WfbsKl

Yes The grabon is a very good tool. I ordered two of them With Eddy from Midwest Trade Tool. I only trust this tool lifting large format. One of those pieces drops something is getting damaged or someone’s getting hurt.

I leveled the floor according to your suggestions. I tried my best and happy to learn from you. Did room by room to avoid fast drying the self leveler is 3/4 thick in some places, but I'm not sure why it cracked after drying in some areas( I did primed before applying self leveling and all according specifications). Are the cracks acceptable or should I redo the entire 1000 square foot floor area. It would be almost impossible.

Looks like a great tool. BTW, what kneepads do you use? I see you using long thick pads that look very comfortable. Link?

Can you do a video on cutting extra large format/ oversize tiles? Rip cuts that are 40 inches or greater...Cross cuts over 30 inches or greater. Since tiles are getting so large, the equipment manufacturers are not keeping up with the trends. Seems you Would need to invest in MASSIVE/HEAVY expensive bridge saws or use freehand "circular" wet saws which don't yield great cuts or straight cuts. Any tips are appreciated

Looks like you notched the back of the tile too. I know that is recommended with bigger tiles. At What size tiles do you notch the back butter? Appreciate a link to video if you have it.
@SalDiBlasi3 жыл бұрын
Usually bigger tiles, but it all depends on the situation, I have done it with 12x24 tiles sometimes.

I was wondering about that too.

What about laying 100cm ×100cm or even bigger on your own ,would you use 2 grabos for really big tiles, very hard on your back laying anything bigger than 75cm

Anything bigger really needs to guys, but yes two grabos would help. amzn.to/3BYl96I

Do You use extendable poles if You are putting larger tile format on ceilings (for support), like a bathroom? I'm about to put-up 10/20" ceramic tile and was wondering if it was going to fall on my head off the ceiling when I first put it up. Thanks again for all your videos. They are of great help!

Was trying to find an appropriate video to talk about money which for me is the worst part of tiling . Having agreed a price for a job with a customer and a person I know before starting he then asked me at end of job what he owed me , I being bit surprised said the figure we agreed and he said "well you said about that much so was hoping you d take some off " , I had no recollection of saying "about" and refused to budge , he grudgingly gave me the money , gave cash which I did nt ask for and then some sarcastic remarks about tax free money , I am so annoyed now over this ,his budget went over and he wanted me to work cheap , I did a real good job but I left the house with a bad feeling , he made me feel like I charged an outrageous price and my weekend ruined

This is why you always write up a contract and spell it all out, what you will do, what you will not do, what is included and what is not. include a phrase that covers your rear end if other people have done work before you that you have to fix. Check out Luke Miller on Tile Money. This is his Channel, but he really more a podcast guy. kzbin.info
