One of my favourite matches (by no means best, just simply enjoyable) was the men's showcase match at Wrestlemania. No story, no drama, just a lot of guys wrestling with vibes. Other than that, Priest vs Bad Bunny definitely was my favourite match of the year. I remember watching Bunny go through the table, thinking "nah they would never send the worlds biggest music artist through a table", and then they did it. Crazy. WWE was a banger in 2023, glad I returned to wrestling in time for it.

19:48 didn’t they have a story line where Sheamus wants to beat Gunther and knows he’s able to so he can win the I.C. Belt and become a grand slam champion. While Drew doesn’t believe his friend Sheamus is able to because he already faced Gunther and lost, but they both won a multi man match because they both got a pin at the same time, then when they went 1 on 1 to see who would actually get the shot. Gunther sent out his goons to make it a no contest to make it where no one faces him I guess that was his thinking, but that just made it the triple threat

Agree. For me it was the first time I was sensing that "big fight feel" from a match in YEARS! The electricity in the air was absolutely impalpable, and the match itself was incredible. Watching it live I felt it went for about 20 mins, then I checked the other day and it was nearly 40 mins long, which is one of the highest praises I can give a match.

Got back from WWE's channel to watch the IC Triple Threat at Mania 39 again. It tops my personal list. That match wasted no time, and gave us an amazing sequel to Gunther and Sheamus at CatC in 2022. Add Drew, and you got 15 non-stop minutes of close near-falls, great chemistry, and BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT! 🥩🔥 Edit: Also, it breaks my heart every time I watch it, but Roman and Cody is up there for me too

The narrative heart of Both of Sheamus’s IC matches with gunther is just how much that particular title means to him, as its the last thing he needs to do for his career to be complete, and the lengths he will go to achieve it, add in building off of the first match at CATC and the brothers turn bitter story between Sheamus and Drew and you really have a strong narrative heart with Sheamus, and the story with the IC title isnt jsut compelling on an onscreen character level, but IRL to Sheamus just as a real life person aswell. Its the whole reason the summerslam match between Gunther and Drew didnt really hit, it doesnt have that core that Sheamus does.

It's not because Charlotte has the potential to have great matches that we should stop criticizing her for sandbagging people in non-title matches. The reason some wrestlers are regarded as amazing is because they make every match feel important wether it's title or non-title. Yeah, Charlotte helped put Rhea over, but Rhea honors that push everytime she's in the ring and outside of it. And for the trolls, yes I know her booking was bad after WW39 but that's not on her. I just think the criticism to Charlotte is very fair.
