Jack is a great character, because that is partly right. He’s a legend in his own mind, but sometimes his actions show that he doesn’t know as much as he thinks he does. But the joke is ultimately on us because it’s his reflexes, and not his conscious decisions there truly legendary :) and through no fault of his own he ends up being what he thinks he is just because he has great reflexes. He’s a great character

I suspect that it's due to a few things: - They don't know what people like, they are out of touch - They are lazy, incompetent, and/or apathetic. A lot of what is done is just remakes and such of things that have already been done. Not a lot of originality, or risk taking. - They are just doing it for the money, and don't care about much more than that - They are doing it to promote a political message, which then overrides all other concerns. - The actors usually seem to just be going through the paces. It's just a job, they aren't really enjoying it or are passionate about it. Thankfully we still have the older movies like this to watch. Not all of the recent movies suck, but the good ones are rare. :)

I enjoyed Thor Ragnarok and found it a bit more goofy and fun than the other Marvel films, particularly on that futuristic planet with Jeff Goldblum. It doesn't quite have the charm of Big Trouble, but I'd say it was a solid success for me. Taika Waititi does silly and fun well, like in Jojo Rabbit - though it had a couple of darker moments.

Jack Burton is the greatest action hero of the 80's. When the Armored Samurai attacks him, and Jack flips the knife in his boot and stabs him, it's so refreshing to see that Jack gets stuck under his weight and goes 'shit' that's the kind of "realism" you never, ever see in movies...and the fact he's just looking for his truck.
